Dear Sifus,

Just got married and now becoming a family man. My precious E90 325i M-Sports suspension has to be sacrificed for that as everyone is complaining that its too bumpy even over normal road surface.

Served my well over the last few years and do not intend to change car anytime soon. Thus, reason on which i have to change the absorbers.

Would like to have some opinion & feedback from Sifu's here before i proceed.

1. Should i just change the absorbers and remain the stock springs. Will this help in terms of comfort? Or should i just go for both?

2. Which should i go for if i intend to choose comfort over handling. Bilstein B6, B8 or B12?

3. I know the RFT is also a major culprit in the bumps. However, my RFT are still in good shape so i 'assume' that changing the absorbers would be a better option here.

I'm not keen on spending too much money on the absorbers as i'm kinda tight this few months in terms of budget. So i do not need any adjustables & etc.

Thanks in advance.

Why don't change to Non-RFT first then only decide to change or maintain M-Sport suspension or not... I'm having dilemma like you before, but 325i Msport without sport suspension really become useless :D. Get a MPV for family car, when want to rempit you still have 325i for fun.

Thanks guys.. Not planning to sell the M-sport suspension if i change it.

BTW, whats the price of non-rft now? If changing, i thought of changing to Michelin PS3 with same size tyre as the stocks.

Thanks!

I'm on PS3 now, staggered setup about ~RM3.3K, previously on Goodyear AS2 with similar price.

How's the comfort level without RFT? Less noise? Less bumpy?

Hows the overall in terms of comfort? stock M-sport suspension? I assume RM3.3k for the same stock staggered size eh?

Thanks

Stock staggered setup - 225 front & 255 rear.

Non RFT slightly better in term of noise and bumpy ride, but can't expect significant improvement. But to me consider ok, but you may have higher expectation, then changing suspension will be the only choice. I just recently changed my stock absorber to Sachs (OEM & equivalent to MSport), feel similar like stock absorber - Bumby :D

Hi Guys,

Not sure if this has been discussed before, but would welcome some suggestions/comments/feedback.

Currently on stock m-sport style 193m wheels with staggered setup; 225/40 R18 (Front) & 255/35 R18 (Rear).

Am thinking of changing to either the following setup to improve comfort level:

1. 225/45 R18 (Front) & 255/40 R18 (rear) - increase tyre profile

OR

2. 235/40 R18 & 265/35 R18 (Front & rear respectively)

OR

3. 235/45 R18 & 265/40 R18

Which one do you think i should go for. Spirited drive along NKVE about once or twice a month, apart from that city driving mostly. I'm more inclined to the first option (increasing tyre profile size), and this is of course much cheaper than the stock profile tyre size.

Appreciate your comments here.

Thanks

Sorry, forgot to add that i have decided i will get the Michelin PS3 as my new tyres. Just need to confirm the setup before i take the plunge.

Thanks.. Any idea where is cheap around PJ area to change Michelin PS3?

Currently quoted the following (cheapest i can find):

FRONT

Michelin PS3 RM 805

BACK
Michelin PS3 RM 975

Price OK? Was also advised to get the Pirelli P1 instead but after reading some reviews, am not too keen. Anyone using P1 here?

Thanks a bunch.. Need to get it replaced by this week before the GST

Hsienloong85, am sure you would've changed your tyres by now. How's the comfort level? And what did you change to in the end?
