Cold Start AC problem

My car air conditioning doesn't seem to be cold every morning. All I needed to do is to restat my car after I driven it for a distance say 1km. My AC will be cold after I re-started. Took it to Quill but usual ....Nothing was found to be at fault. Anyone can help? Mine is the E60 523i late 2009. Done 69,000km

Same here, after discharging & refilling the A/C gas is was back to normal. After 10 months it happens again & there is no leaking or what so ever.
When the car is moving it will be cold, but in traffic jams it starts to warm..

Could be a sign of the compressor's magnetic clutch wearing out. Be prepared to change compressor. Happened to mine.

Might be a simple problem like the switch. Go for the cheap solutions before thinking about the rest. Had the same symptoms last time as well and only after a while the air con would 'activate' itself. Sometimes. Sent for a quick diagnosis and the mech did not even think twice before saying that it was the switch problem as he had diagnosed so many bimmers with the same issue.
