Recently, i begun to notice, that my leather gear knob and steering wheel begun to slowly deteriorate. Until i had to leave my vehicle in the car park (under cover) for a period of TWO weeks. Upon my return, i've noticed that, the wear and tear on gear know has DOUBLED!!! Immediately, i suspected cockroaches, as i've seen one or two in the past, but didn't think much of it. As of yesterday, i've set up a trap. Within hours, i cough about SIX bastards responsible for the damages, some as large as 5 centimeters. Has anyone had this problem in the past? How did you deal with it?

buy a large can of Baygon insecticide. empty half the content in the cabin and trunk, quickly closing door/boot to allow the chemical to linger inside the car overnight. following night, repeat process with balance of spraycan. for good measure, repeat the double dose after 4 days - that ought to rid of any recently hatched cockroaches.

p/s - want a replacement steering & gearknob?

Thanks Mizhan. I won't be replacing it, but will be considering to change the leather on gear know and replace steering wheel with mtII type. Little later though.

I just leave the car under the hot sun for around 3 hrs with all the windows closed. Usually it will kill all insects and spiders inside the car.

put daun pandan inside your car, trust me its working.

betul ke ni? if it's true then wonderful! simply because pandan smells better than baygon.

Hope you've managed to sort out the problem KGB.

I used to have problems with lil ants in my car earlier this year. Must've parked under some tree which had an ant's nest. Ended up having to use up a more than moderate amount of Shieldtox and parking the car under the hot sun with all windows and doors opened to 'dry' out the interior.

Happened twice in the space of a month, and after that, never had any problems with the pests anymore. :top:

Two cardinal rules for car lovers to prevent pest problems:

1) Don't eat in your car

2) Don't park your car under trees

Aerosol spray and a lighter...best way to rid of pest once and for all

this is one "dirty e-thirty" lols

hope the pest issue is resolved...gee lucky they aint bitting at some important electrical / mechanical components.....
cabutz!!!

I remember seeing one cockroach when purchasing the vehicle, didn't pay much attention at the time, not until they ate my gearknob :20:

As mentioned earlier, i've set up few traps, and did catch few rather large criminals, but somehow, two of them managed to escape. Will be trying poison and leaves very soon.

I guess that's a Sure-Fire way of solving the problem, eh? (Pun definitely intended) :D
