I have an E90 and I'm planing to change the shock absorber and coil spring of my car. I'm choosing between a Bilstein or KW (variant 1 or 2) coil-over kit.Anyone mind to share with me some of your expert opinion?

I just found out that Bilstein B12 coil-over kit cost RM 4200 without installation.

how old is ur car? not worth it if u can still use ur existing suspension la. remember too that u will have to trade off comfort for performance. the standard stock set up has the best balance in terms of comfort and performance. so, think carefully before you spend that money.

my .02 rm opinion

Thanks for your opinion. :)

I was sitting in my friend's E90 fitted with Bilstein PSS9 last week and I was surprise that the ride comfort is as good, if not better, than my std suspension even the car is fitted with 18" wheels and lowered (goods great). handling is 100% better than my std E90.

I sat on another 330i Coupe fitted with KW Varient 2 coil-over kit and again the ride comfort and handling feels much much better even the car is lowered...

Later I was told that our std suspension is tuned to be used with run flat tyres and hence the ride quality changes once we start using normal tyres. Not sure whether this is true...

i am running on a set of k-sportUSA coilovers on my e90. price is much cheaper than bilstein pss9 and KW varient 2.you can pm me for the price. performance and ride is the same as the two brands you are looking for but just cheaper. a few forumers here is using it, i am sure they will chirp in soon.

Am on KW2 with 18" rims/tires (non RFT).

I wud say - good ; not harsh or bumpy . Even better if you are running with 3 or 4 persons. I m on 'medium' setting. But it tends to float over long sweeping corners.
Probably I need to set it harder ..

Haven't tried PSS or FSD - so can't compare ...

its true that our standard ride is quite firm and harsh on runflat tires. Most people who changed to non run flat tires experience better more comfortable ride. If you are looking for comfort, try changing ur tires first. u may realise its the only change you need to do, without spending so much.

I already change to 18" rims with non run flat tyres...
