dear sifu's,i'm thinking of changing the engine of my E46 (year 2004 - lifestyle model) from 318i (2.0liter) to a 325 engine. any suggestions on this? i mean can i get some advise on what are the pro and cons on having it changed?thank you sifu's.

if ya have a thick wallet around rm15k then go ahead ...or else ain't worth ...

Hi Veera...pros more power and most likely better efficiency compared to lesser power to weight ratio of ur current engine. Cons.....higher road tax, hassle w jpj to submit change of engine, more stops for gas and heavy footed driving. But definitely more fun of driving your UDM ;)

If I read correctly, it's a mod from N46 (or maybe N42) to M54.
Pros - mentioned already by MadZiZ
Cons - quite a lot of hassle since it's no direct swap hence what ICEMAN 13 mentioned above.
Verdict - If I were you, I'd get a healthy running E46 325/330 instead. To reply to your question: Don't do it!

not worth the hassle to convert and the headache later...... might as well trade in your 318 for a 325

better trade in bro...seriously...convert is the very last resort...better source for a 325i.

why.?? if you convert...it goin to be hell for the mechanics to sort out the eletrical wiring and electronics...and...u wont know the donor m54b25 engine have been thru wat before...its goin to be headache...in long run...

better get a car which is build with m54b25...unless ur car is e36 which is less electrical and sensor.....
