hello all sifu..i need expert advise.my car engine kong.sent to workshop n they tell need to change new engine.cost - rm8000.so better i buy new 1 or just look 1 from chop shop?im really confused.anyone with this experience please share.tq:dontknow:

M52 / 54 are typically robust unit. your mechanic sure engine change is needed. what's ur car? if need to change engine meaning your block must be cracked or cylinders wall sudah makan. expect 1:1 ratio of the cost of labor to the engine cost. if can, go for the best....M54 3 litre...231 bhp. I got a good honest mechanic who can advise u.. dia pun tau not everyone driving the E39 got deep pocket. PM me your number if you are interested.

Like every said unless your engine cracks you do not need to change engine. Get a second opinion.

i saw there is a E39 with 1jz around the motorsport maz before. The original engine for the car is double vanos and now has been changed to 1jz and according from the maz. the guy car produce around 300bhp

sometimes in this current economy situation, mechanic will make big story...better know more about what really happen to your current engine first...
if really need to change, no need change half cut ma....just buy engine kosong and replace, wiring if same model is the same...no need to 'BOGEL' your car like mine....

friend, was that the only reason he recommended u to change ur engine? sounds like he's trying to pull a fast one on u. :bike:
A yr 2000 engine is relatively new. get a 2nd / 3rd opinion

U can try MS Motor or San Hin Auto at Chan Sow Lin. There are also two shops at Puchong, one is called Haki, the other is called Chan Auto. Changed my 528 year 96 (m52 ?). Engine cost RM4.5k. Workmanship around RM1k and I bring my own parts to the shop JT at Tmn Sg Besi. The price they charge for parts are also very reasonable. My engine broke. 2 big holes. No sign of oil leak( the engine oils light did not emit). Just a sudden blow, the engine oil flowed out and the rods whacked thru the engine block. Could it be that the engine oil light is not functioning properly?
