Hi guys, I need some advice here. What is the procedure at JPJ after I have changed the colour of the car? Some told me I have to send the car in for Puspakom's checking before the amendment on the regn card.Need help pls since the car has changed colour from original maroon to silver. Thanks

My car also lorr..from maroon to green. but from what i heard JPJ dont really care as long as you paint it with only one colour

really? But from what i understand, we need to get endorsement on the regn card when we change the color. This is to ensure that insurance company is also notified accordingly on the change of color. But previously the hire purchase officer told me i need to send the car in for puspakom inspection b4 the endorsement. anyone can assist?

What I heard is that u need to fill up a form and pass it to JPJ with old registration card.

JPJ will update its records and make amendments in handwriting on your card.

I also hv yet to get around doing it.

you would need to take the car to puspakom for endorsement before sending the result to the jpj to ammend the registration card.

That's the correct law abiding procedure...

so much hassle lah doing business with the government.
Insurance i dont think they really care about your car colour, recently i did kena langgar by a lorry, car spins 360degree lucky everbody survived. Insurance did cover the cost of repair...no question asked

It's a JPJ requirement that when you change identifying characteristic of your car such as engine or colour, you have to update the registration details. Inspection is required and is by Puspakom because JPJ inspection is privatized to them.

HP companies will assume you are obeying JPJ rules and are more concern whether you pay your instalments. Insurance company are also usually flexible, but strictly speaking they can decline a claim if it proven you are not obeying JPJ rules.

Yah, totally agreed with what you said...if you have the time to do so, then it is recommended to

Sidetrack. I wanted to change ownership of my E34 from my company to my name. Not so easy bro. I need a letter from my company to JPJ informing them of the transfer, a resolution from the company secretray, a physical check at JPJ. I changed my mind.

Hello friends,

In fact my colleague had change the color recently from dark blue to blacken. What he did is send the car to puspakom to ensure that the engine is still belong to the chassis. After that need to bring the puspakom test result to JPJ and re-posses new pink slip. The reason is to ammend at line # 7 under "warna :" clause. Once received, it is advised to go straight away to insurance company to update the policy base on new pink slip with new serial number. Quite messy then and it shall reduce your annual leave by 2 days

good, bad, legal, illegal... no way im taking my car to PUSPAKOM...they go wild on our tint and rubber linings on doors etc + their equipment is bloody outdated... sorry!! I just MOOOO them as much as i can to get away wt these inspections...

cheers...

Yo sachseelan

Yes, as a matter of fact, i agree with you. All the tinted film should be take out first before drive into puspakom parking lot. This will cost us dollar and cent and after finish inspection, one thing for sure retrieve back to the same shop and put up the tinted back. What a waste actually !!

hey guys, what do u mean by they are wild on the window tinting and window lining? I thought if we sent our cars in for Puspakom inspection, they are supposed to respect us as customers? and take good care of our rides? Well, when i purchased this car earlier on, the previous owner did send in for puspakom inspection (for finance company actually) and the car came out ok.

Perhaps u guys had some bad experience with puspakom? care to share? as i believe other readers would also wanna find out more :)

I believe the agency is there for a good intention. But there's always some people out there trying to rip you off. The items you mentioned could be hot items now, but it could be anything really.

i just sold my old honda prelude off as i was told that i need puspakom approval now. they are actually quite fast nowadays, i went to the entrance at padang jawa, told the fellow there that what borang i need to full up to sell my car, i think it was called v1, parked my car into the queing line, paid rm15 and waited for my turn. all in that order. they have special line for private cars.

when my turn, they asked me to open the bonnet, checked the engine no, rd tax, and chassis no. took some gismo to check the tinting. i hit 5.5 for the sides and 7.5 for the front. then lulus.

all in all i took around 1.5 hours. not that bad for government link company i think.

but i saw one car in front of me peeling off their tinting there and then.

Hi Edward,

If u give them duit kopi sure faster one :)
U just sign up and they will help u fill the rest.
Trust me if u dont. This is what 2nd hand dealers always do when loan approved.

No offence acidburn, but we will never improve ourself and our country if we continue to have this kind of attitude. BCM members should not encourage graft in open forum. Let's have higher values than that!
