CD player not detecting cd

My stock 6 cd player is acting up recently, it wont detect the cd's. Sometimes it will detect one or two disc, but of late it will say "No Disc". Anyone else has this problem?Please help.... getting bored of radio.... :blink: :blink: (note cant afford ICE yet :cry: :cry: )

dude,it sounds like its either ur changer motor or the lenses tht r out.....

had the same problem on my stupid clarion head unit + my clarion 12 disc changer at the same time.

You may experience problems if you burn your own CDs as these players are pretty old and may have problems reading CD-Rs as they were not designed as such.

Try cleaning the laser pick up . if this does not help then I suspect the laser P/U need to change.

Hi Guys,

I am currently having the same player as Bishop and am facing the exact same problems as Bishop too!

Have you guys have any solutions? Bishop, how did you rectify the problem?

Lastly, if I am to clean the laser head, how do I do it?

Any audio shop have those cd player cleaner. It came in cd form with a little brush on it and a bottle of chemical. Used it as you're playing your cd. But first don't use the fluid. If it is still failed, then use the fluid. Play it a few time.

This is the cheapest and easy way to clean the pick-up lens. Good luck

r u driving E46? if yes, open your boot and eject your black CD box out, can b ejected?

Since Bishop and I share the same problem, let me tell you of my situation. I can eject the black CD box out. And yes, I am driving an E46.
