Guys, just wanted to hear your opinion on whether to buy the e60 now or wait six months later to get the all new F10. As you well aware, we can now purchase a new e60 525i M-Sport (pre-reg in 2009, zero mileage) at RM367k which is about RM45k cheaper than the original retail price. So, the question is that is it worthwhile to buy the 525 M-sport now or wait a little longer to buy F10 523i which I was told should be priced around the RM360k-RM380k range? Assuming the expected price for the 523 F10 model is true, I will need to compare the current e60 525 M-sport against the basic F10 523 model. How much more technology advancement will the engine of the basic F10 523 model be compared to the e60 525 M-sport model? Will the basic F10 523 justify you forgoing the fully loaded e60 525 M-sport? Also, based on your experience how much the current e60 models will depreciate when the new F10 model is being introduced?

Go for F-10 if you have the money to spare, if it's a budget constraint then consider the E60.

I would agree with Climenta but having said that, six months is a long wait.In my case i could change my mind six times. If you already an e60 owner planning to upgrade then the F10 is worth the wait I guess but if you're not an existing e60 owner,6 months is a long wait and besides I have my serious doubts that the new F10 would cost anything less than 400K.This was the same crap the Merc boys were throwing at me before the new E class was launched and that it would cost about the same as the current model. If you go check on the price tag now it rings RM455K.I say the new F10 would be over 400K.Anyone up for a bet?

Haha... every new BMW model, there tend to be some technological shock, some u may like, some u may not like. Are u ready for such shock or not?!

The next 5 is a bigger longer car, u like BIG?! :D U like the current 7? F10 will be like a baby 7.

Mr Guna, the new E200CGI is RM366,888, not RM455k. That is for the E300. BMW Malaysia will price the F10 523i close to the new E200CGI, so between RM360k and RM370k would be a good estimate. They would probably undercut Mercedes, so I would guess nearer RM360k for the base model.

Yeah, that's right. Maybe the CBU will cost more but once the CKD model is out, it should hover within the range of the Mercedes E200CGI.

What "shock" (or "shiok") the the F10 523 would have that you heard from the grapevines, Astroboy? Share a bit of the secrets la. :listen:

What about the engine technology used in the new F10 523? Will it be marked improvement over the e60 525?

I will go for e60 in this case.

The last batch of BMW always loaded with full acc if compare with the 1st batch basis f10.

i would go for E60 loaded with full acc. at only Rm367k.
but the thing is i didnt like the 525i, since i am riding a 325i. 535i would be better if available.

for you, i say go 525i at this special price tag loaded with HUD, 8" IDrive SATNAV, etc...etc....those things easily cost 40K to upgrade for non-equipped E60s.

PS: I'll go for Alpine White if available.

Just my 2cent ill wait for the F10. But there is a downside... i think all new F10 will come with a 3.0 engine block but a detune version. like the 323 which is a 325 engine... so the problem is the road tax... 3.0 liter = 2K ++ a year (personal)

Dear Bro,
If I were you, I definitely go to F10. Go for it man....my guess, the price may not be that far from the current 525i. Do not get frustrated to see an F10 on the road infront of you in 6 months time...don't think too much la.....go man!

So... you are saying the F10 523i is a 3 litre car? Wow, that's interesting. :driver:

wait for the f10...it is definitely better than the current e60. u'll loose thousands in depreciation 6 mths from now if u were to buy e60 now.

plus the new model would definitely get a 5 star ncap rating as oppose to current model 4 star:top:

I stand corrected then.Yes I'm aware that the the price I mentioned is for the E300 cbu.In this case I suggest wait for the F10 la.

Yeh at the current moment its fitted with a 3 liter displacement, and that's how a 523 can get 204 HP / 270 torque, 528 get 258 HP / 310 Torque and the best part 535 (Twinpower Turbo) which is a 3 liter engine with twin scroll single turbo = 306HP and mind boggling 400NM torque. And im keeping my fingers cross, hoping BMW Malaysia will bring in the 535i.

p/s: the F10 will run on a new engine N55B30,

What about 4-wheel steering?! U familiar with using one?! :D :D I wonder if we can switch off the 4-wheel steering like switching off DSC for spirited "throw"..:106:

My humble opinion... it was love at first sight for me ever since I laid my eyes on E60 in 2003... back then I was still driving a Satria and couldn't afford the UDM. I told myself to work very hard to get my hands on the dream machines.
Of course the F10 will have many improvements compared to the current E60... no doubt on that but then I still think E60 is a meaner looking beast compared to the milder F10. It's a matter of preference... just like many forumers vouch for E39 than E60, as they never really like Chris Bangle's flame surfacing or BAngle Butt... it's that simple.
me??? Die die also go for E60...
