Dear Beemers Brother and Sister,I am owning a 320d M Sport 2012 starting from last year May,View attachment 31831My mileage now is about 55,000km.Is it worth to extend my BSRI to 100,000km ? The charges is RM7351

Do not extend bcos:

- its cheaper outside
- if you buy Opal warranty, they do not accept BMW servicing

Do you forsee yourself replacing car consumables (engine oil, brake pads, rotors etc.) of up to RM7k for the next 45k km? If yes, do go ahead. Service and replacement of those items at 3rd party workshops might only cost you half the price.

Personally, I have the 320d as well and my mileage is at 56k but I have no intentions to extend the BSRI. Will perform my car's service outside instead.

BSRI extension can't be so expensive nia. Warranty extension izzit?

Another 45k km, max u only need 4 oil change @ RM500x4, brake rotor plus pad and sensor cable change @2k, brake fluid change @ RM200/30k km, 2 sets of wiper blades and 2 microfilter.. even if u pay full SC price, still won't exceed RM5k. BSRI does not cover spark plugs, air filter, power steering oil, coolant, transmission and axle oil.

Please double check on the items covered. Above prices are all SC price. If do outside, easily another 20% saving.

Also bear in mind that BSRI is condition based service.. must follow on board computer recommendations . Not simply change as you wish.

Wow! Brother Mavik, your mileage is about the same with me,
but how long already you own the car?

It's more than 2 years old but I have travelled outstation quite frequently with the car (with the occasional 1000km drives to the east coast and back).

Original BMW disc rotors are only about RM400 each. SCs are charging like almost twice.

My E90 is coming to 6 years old now, 95k km on the meter and I'm still good on my 2nd sets of rotor. Have not spend a single sen for rotor replacement. First set was replaced during BSRI, on the 3rd year, before hitting 60k km.

My preference has always been NA engine due to it's smoothness in power delivery which is ideal for feathering throttle in mid corners [my favorite moments] and of course, NA engine has always been kind to our wallets when it comes to maintenance and fuel consumption.

Haven't got chance to own a forced induction unit.. The heat generated from turbo is pretty demanding when it comes to maintenance and of course the turbo lag which I hate. The N20 seems to have solved those traditional turbo problems.. Wait and see la. :4:

Turbo lag means when you want to overtake a car in front and quickly floor the pedal,
The car will response 1 second later and then pick up the power.

Am I right?
