AB SC no good? can complain directly to their rep on our annual dinner day.. any rep from them? :4:

Wow ... You did not know at? As if the rep will do anything when the boss there does not give much of a shit. Dream on la they will do something.

A lot of people never struck lottery in their life but they still trying what.. think positive.. haha!! :4:

Question : for cars that were installed with sprint booster or race chip will this void the BSRI claims ?

Technically BMW will say void. For me legally, with logic thrown in, it should not. We do not wanna go to court to find out. But you can rest assure anything will be deemed as a mod when they do not wish to cover it. Still, Sprint Booster is easily removed.

Why don't you sit with the rep and chat and see what you can do? I mean better to be proactive than just to say sometimes can strike lottery. Will you? I can accompany you too. What say you Astro?

Then don't say what you say above if you Written them off. Simple? That is why as I have said before, hardly any real action will be taken despite having an official club and reading complain after complain in the forum. But all the exaltations we give la? So how Astro? Write only or willing to lift a finger to try something that may benefit the whole? Maybe just type more?

Just lift middle finger to show them la. There's so many excellent authorised SC out there. Why waste your breath? AB's advantage in this industry is they are well stocked with the widest range of color options. Tekan them a bit, get the car and cabut la. Why bother returning there for service? That's what I did and will do it again if need be.

To be frank, many of the well trained foremen who are now in other SC are formally from AB. Trouble shooting effectiveness is one thing, personalized customer service is another which I felt lacking in AB.

..Lacking Big Time I say :frown: ...

Astro ... You can show 2 middle fingers but the car still has problems. So what would the club try to do to discuss with BMW? Anything? The complains are endless and so are the accolades. Anyone willing to moot anything? Maybe just type type type la ...

If car under warranty and has problem, get the other SC to rectify la, after all, the bill still be sent to BMW Malaysia. And if problem persist, take it up with BMW Malaysia directly lor. We have tried complain to BMW AG but they will just diplomatically advise you to go approach BMW Malaysia.

Astro ... The dun tell us to try and strike lottery la

Try to strike lottery means got to keep providing them the feedback and hope one day, the SC attitude can change. Like wise, can keep quiet and just send the car to elsewhere for servicing lor. No point bringing up even in the forum, unless it's something we don't know.. :p

This club did something before but SC habit dies hard.

Ok so would any of these mods void the BSRI :

1) installing K&N filter
2) BMW performance pedal
3) new exhaust
4) new set of wheels
5) installing new headlights

Here's an extract of the warranty claims ( not the same as BSRI)

• Non-BMW supplied options and alterations.
This warranty covers only those items sold as part of the original vehicle and excludes non-BMW supplied options, accessories and/or other items fitted to the vehicle at the instigation of the selling dealer or the purchaser.
Where the vehicle is repaired, disassembled or tampered with at workshops other than at a BMW Authorised Dealer’s outlet or if the identification numbers or marks of the items has been defaced, no claim can be made under this warranty. Neither BMW nor BMW Authorised Dealers accept any responsibility or liability relating to any user or third party if alterations to the vehicle are or have been effected.

Technically all the above items would not be covered under warranty for the sale of the vehicle unless it was installed as part of the sale. But do realize if you purchase BMW originals, they do have warranty of their own. Question is whether if you were to install say the BMW interior lighting package after you purchase the vehicle then the system burns, will they say based on the above warranty, it does not get covered? I doubt they will do that. Bad for PR and business.

BSRI has nothing to do with warranty and all the above items are not covered by BSRI. So the question raised above is meaningless. You replace all the above with after market parts, your BSRI is still intact. Is it very difficult to understand?

Some people mix up terms la. Slightly confused. So did not understand. Also if you change after market brake pads will it affect warranty and BSRI? How Astro?

Sorry for my ignorance - got confused by other posts that mentioned about void of BSRI.
Thanks for your input

Brake pad...

u drive the car.. drive..drive..drive.. until OBC pops up brake pad warning. Then your make appointment go replace brake pad la. Why would you want to spend on after market brake pad when you can get it for free? Don't make sense right?

Standard warranty only 2 years or 60k km, so by the time your warranty expires, you still continue to enjoy BSRI FOC brake pad (3 years or 60k km), why go change after market la? Don't make sense right?

Unless you itchy go change pad immediately got the car, then by the time OBC pops up, signaling due for BSRI, then SC may reject your pad claim because they can't use your after market pad and go BMW Malaysia claim replacement. I think that's what u mean. On the same note, let say you experiencing problem with your brake after installing the after market pad (during warranty period), then u try to claim warranty on the brake. Of course can't lor. How can you claim BMW warranty to cover your after market pad la? Don't make sense right?

So what is the confusion?

AstroBoy ... that is the problem with you. You think all newcomers will understand they way you do? That is why be gentle la. Also, I just gave you an example of how warranty/BSRI can co-relate. So many after market parts are available. So many times ask the SC they sometimes say yes, sometimes say no. For a newcomer they are confused la.
