Hi guys....is it normal to hear some boiling/steam sound from the bleed hole of the radiator after a long drive? Happened to mine when i came back from PD

if bleeding doesn't help, I would suggest doing a thorough clean-up of your radiator.
Had this problem which was a real headache as I couldnt push the car beyond 140 as due to my clogged-up radiator, pressure build-up would cause the radiator water to find its way out ending up in temp rising very quickly. At least 2 fill-ups would be needed before I could move normally again. As long as I kept my speed below 140, the prob wouldnt occur.....funny but true and a real pain in the butt !

thanks guys....wat happened was i initially had a burst water pipe....it was replaced....then later i experienced another round of overheating and discovered tat my aircond fan was not working....i had it replaced and a pressure leak test showed the radiator was ok....then all was well...so when i went outstation and came back i noticed the boiling happening....i need to get it checked again....stress....

when i looked at the bleed screw it was not very tight...when i looked at the radiator it didnt lose very much water....could the screw being not tight be the reason?

i also have converted my fan into a electric fan...but the fan is actually a e36 aircond fan usually fitted in the front of the e36....i was told by another mech tat the fan used is incorrect as the blowing direction is opposite since the fan is now installed on the inside of the car..any one familiar with the electric fan conversion?

Thanks

Yeah bro....done....its much better now...are u still on electric fan? or urs is already electric with the V8?

yeap when u go from standstill u can feel more drag....but its much safer for the e34s i think since it needs to be modded to fit... at least with clutch its mechanical and not based on the electric circuit....for my case it wasn't cooling it enough...so temp was higher ...it may be reason why my pipe suddenly burst and then my aircond fan also kaput....now with the clutch fan back in place the temp needle is slightly below the middle mark....with the electric fan it was at the middle and sometimes slightly above.....

wah man....i also learnt alot from this experience and its precisely wat u sed bro....i think my power overloaded and burnt the fuse for the front pusher fan...the fuse melted man....basket....i didnt experience the hard to start part but the burnt fuse killing the fan and the burst pipe...enuff to dent my heart and my wallet d....

I was then recommended to use the Volvo 850 fan...but then need to mod it to fit...no need lar....the e36 one i think too small for our engine....

Put back clutch fan only wah like winter like tat for the engine....now i think my engine happier with me lar....hahaha

So guys if u think of puttin in a electric fan i think Black and my advice is stay away.....wats not meant to be is not meant to be.....

i had the same fuse melting problem too...until one wireman put in 3 30A fuses...solve problem, plus a lower temp sensor from mercedes.

Fandango are you on electric fan?...

Now I'm also using some mega fuse....silver box... coz my fuse burnt until cannot take out man

this is a classic example of why smart alecs should not play dice with BMW trained engineers. :listen: and btw how much hp do you lose from the clutch fan and how much the "extra" hp can help you in your quest to overtake the car in front of you?
