Hi all,I've am considering a recond UK spec BMW X6 3.0d and would like to know if anyone from the forum's had any experience with this model? I read somewhere that the recond diesel units are not suitable for our shores due to the disparity between our diesel & the ones offered in the UK, is this true? Any of your kind feedback is very much appreciated!

Big mistake bro...don't do it. UK and Malaysia everything different-tropical climate and diesel fuel quality........your car will kaput!

I think its the particulate filter if u removed it should be ok.

Hi guys, thanks for your feedback! Ade, can you furnish me more details regarding the Particulate Filter? How does removing it help for UK imports? Anybody in this forum have done this and see good results? Thanks!!!

IMHO, remove the particulate filter and retune it to take Euro 2 Diesel from Euro 4 or 5 in UK.

Our diesel quality are way too bad for those performance engine! Even you retune it, the performance won't be the same anymore...If I were you, I won't get the diesel model at all.

Diesel is a sensible choice between performance & economy especially for SUV.

With diesel quality in Malaysia, common problem would be

1. Clog cat con
Solution: By pass it and it would not trigger any fault code if done properly

2. Failed injector
Solution:
a. Try to pump at petrol station with high ground, as it age, water might sip through the fuel storage tank causing moisture in diesel and subsequently knock off your injector
b. Try to access petrol station with higher volume of turnover as it ensure the diesel is fresh & prevent moisture

I think it would be fine to get the X6 30d xdrive (UK spec). This is because both the X5 30d and X6 30d (UK spec) are using the same engine. BMW malaysia is selling X5 30d currently therefore I think BMW malaysia should have overcome those malaysia diesel quality problems before introducing X5 30d into malaysia market. One of the things that BMW malaysia has done is to remove the particulate diesel filter. Therefore it is sensible to assume that X6 30d can be used in malaysia market. Please correct me if I am wrong. Perhaps anybody out there who is currently driving the X6 30d or X6 35d in malaysia could elaborate more on this issue. Thank you.

I know of 2 people who drive X6 3.0d to work in same company. One I know rather well. Both enjoy their suv. I never heard any of them complaining. If the rumour about Malaysian diesel is unsuitable and will clog or cause engine performance degradation(euro 4 is more environmentally friendly over euro 2 grade), why Toyota, Mitsubishi and other commercial vehicles suffering?

I things Both diesel engines in the BMW X6 xDrive30d and the xDrive40d use state-of-the-art common rail diesel technology for higher performance and singularly low consumption. The turbo diesel engine in the BMW X6 xDrive30d delivers 180 kW (245 hp)........

BMW X6 packs eye-catching styling and high-octane performance into the body of a midsized SUV but diesel for such pretty car you must think twice.

:41: Perhaps they were not educated on what diesel fuel properties is and how it could easily go wrong if mistakes happen such as someone accidentally using non diesel parts or liquids during servicing or not rectifying mistakes carefully. Then blame diesel for everything.

Do anybody knows the difference in consumption between diesel and petrol version of X6, even though is that a big difference?

I been using X6 Diesel 35D Twin Turbo (UK spec) and have been driving around on Malaysia climate with Euro2 Biodiesel standard for about 2 years now. I never have any problem with it with the DPF (Diesel particle filter) on it. The only trick to take care this beast is to change the Diesel Filter frequently (10k-15k km/ Diesel Filter change)

SO DONT LISTEN TO THOSE JOKERS :65: :65: HERE THAT NEVER :68: :68: DRIVE A DIESEL BIMMERZ BEFORE.

Prior to owing X6 Diesel i m using 530D E60 too.  No problem at all. :69: :69:

hi Sean....you change your diesel filter every 10 to 15k km? So frequently? Thought only needed to change it every 80k km?
