I am hoping to get advice for this BMW X6 40D UK Spec that I'm purchasing. I browsed the forum and came across some un-answered question so Im here to find out. Hope kind souls out there can help.
1. Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)
Im buying a UK Spec 2010 X40D. I read from somewhere that BMW Malaysia will remove this DPF due to our Diesel 2M Sulphur Level. Now that we have Euro 5, if it was removed, should we install it back? Whats the cost of it and rather, how do we check it ourselves whether it has been removed or not?
2. How many KM interval service is needed for this 2010 version Diesel Model? What engine is it running on for this year and model anyone knows? What do we change during the service normally and how much do they cost? And how much does the Diesel Filter cost?
3. I also read from someone whose friends are using X6. He said that the friends need to spend RM5K for every 2 months just to maintain this monster. Is it real? That freak me out a bit really.
4. Mine doesnt come with a spare tyre. Does anyone of you have?
5. Any good Mechanic that knows X6 well and give reasonable and expert advice?
6. Should I get a mechanic to check the car first? Im in the midst of applying a loan. How much are they cost per check? Please can anyone recommend?
7. Does anyone have the issue of Cabin Noise? I suspect these noise come out from the plasticky parts. Read that we can use the Foam Tape to fix. Anyone experienced and how you fix it?
Last but not least, for a BMW first time owner and X6 owner especially, anything that I need to take note on when it comes to maintaining the car or taking car of the car? Any good advice on how to take care of the car so that it wouldnt cost us a boom when we service it?
