Gutentag, ich bin ein Berliner! Actually I'm not, but I'm new! I'm a Dutch working in KL. Used to work for the Dutch version of the Japanese GT championship. Today I stumbled upon an old movie which I want to share with you. The movie shows a BMW STW E36 prepared by BMW Motorsport. The car has to start from the back of the grid in the Dutch Supercar Challenge due to problems in quali. See the car (with only 280 horses) overtake everything! Even the 600bhp Porsches GT2 and Marcos LM600's. Corner entry speed is everything on a racetrack. But most of all; listen to the engine (why I put it here). It is one of the few BMWs that actually really breathes trough its nostrils. The sound you hear is 100% intake 'music' that flows trough a highly sophisticated airbox. The engine has roughly the lifetime of 2000 kilometers and that is the long range engine, it comes in a ‘sprint’ variant too! This car is very special, as were all cars prepared for the STW championship. The current WTCC is somewhat boring compared to those cars!
