The new 2.0-liter petrol unit will debut on the BMW X1 xDrive28i while many other models are on the waiting list to benefit from the new engine. The new 2.0 TwinPower Turbo unit is able to develop 245 horsepower at 5000 rpm while the Germans announced a torque of 350 Nm available at 1250 rpm.
The new four-cylinder engine is able to meet the Euro5 requirments as the average fuel consumption stops at 7,9 liters/100 km while the CO2 emissions reach 183 g/km. The new petrol unit also offers a system which recovers the braking energy together with the well-known Start/Stop system, all these in order to make the new engine more eco-friendly.Going in depth regarding the mechanical features, the new petrol unit features the High Precision Injection system together the Valvetronic and twin-scroll technologies. The first model to be equipped with the new propeller, the X1 xDrive28i manages to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6,1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 240 km/h.
