PS2 cornering not as stable as compared to RFTs think due to their stiffer sidewall... i reckon only 19inch normal tyre can match de 18s RFTs sidewall stiffness and cornering stability... but at the expense of comfort... if only someone can tell me whether 19inch rim with normal tyres will be more comfortable than 18s with RFTs? or would it be the same or worse off?

This will aid me then next time my PS2s wears off and due for change...

i have one set of type 124 on Bridgy RE050A RFT and one set of type 166 on Michelin PS2...

i use both alternately and based on my personal opinion is that the 18" RFT are very bumpy and especially thumpy on small cracks on the road or sharp bumps...but for slightly uneven road it is more comfortable than the 19" PS2 which becomes very unsettle when successive uneven surface on the road...

cornering stabilty the RFT win over the PS2 but the RE050A grip on wet sucks...

by the way mine is on the M-Spok suspension...so what ever setup also not comfortable...

ya t2ribena agree with you on the thumpy RFTs and comfort on successive uneveness on the road and also the cornering stability.. i was thinking it is the 18 PS2 that behaves this way but it seems from your experience even the 19 PS2 is not as stable as the RFT.. would CSC3 solve this problem of cornering instability vs RFTs?

is it the nature or PS2 or RFTs sidewalls are stiffer to ensure cornering stability? mayb 20inch PS2 or CSC3 can match RFTs cornering stability?

m thinking of going back to run flats. wat could be de problem? do i need to run them in? if yes how many kms? tyre pressure running on 34psi

heard from e60 forum that bridgestone RE050A Pole Position are better than PS2s in terms of handling... some say PS2 ZP RFT is very good...

pumped up the pressure to40psi front and 46psi rears and the cornering improved but still not as good as run flats as it tend to oversteer and not as stable as RFTs.. wondering if bridgestone 050 can solve this problem or only RFTs can give the kind of high speed cornering stability that im used to....
My H&R anti roll bar should be already at its hardest setting the last i remembered...

have put on CSC3 SSR RFTs and cornering is almost back to before as think the tyres need running in... CSC3 weighs at 13kg.. lighter than Dunlop RFTs... 135 style bmw rims is 12.8kgs per pc...

Guys, I saw the sizes of rims on your post and need advice of what suitable size should be use for the
19"x8.5" & 19"x10"

anyone got a set of 16" style 134 lying around? wanna experiment the effect of using lighter rims...not sure if its worth the $$$ or not. heard these rims r the lightest in the e60 ori rims range.

Dear friend,
I just traded off these rims in a shop in Rawang. They're lighter cos they're 16" . I traded off with used 18" ori MS rim with RFT. It quiet a hard drive now probably due to the RFT 245/40x18. I guess changing to 245/45/18 will make it more confortable.

Hi,
I also need some advice from all of you sifus. My 523 was using 16" rim with normal tyres which was very comfortable but doesn't like the rims so changed to used 18" 525 MS rim with RFT 245x40x18. As expected, cornering improve at the expense of comfort. I wud like to go back to normal tyres so thinking of using 245x45x18. Will that improve comfort since the tyres are ticker.

changing from RFT to normal tyres will improve comfort by itself with the same size...

Changing ur tyres from 245/40 to 245/45 will actually increase ur rolling radius thus will theoretically worsen ur fuel consumption and increase the error in ur speedo reading.
A switch from RFTs to normal tyres of the same size would be the best solution for ur needs.

Guys, many thanks to your advice on the choice of tyre size. I will settle for the 245x40.
I am also looking for GY F1 Asymmetric as a replacement. Heard a lot people says it is agood tyre for E60. Your comment pls! I was quoted RM920/piece recently.
