BMW E46 M54B22 vs Honda Accord 2.4L K24

Greetings to all bros, would like to get some of the maintenance info bout the BMW E46 M54B22 & Honda Accord K24 2005.Searching ard this 2nd model, the BMW E46 320i 2002 selling bout RM68k+- & Honda Accord 2.4L 2005 also selling bout RM68K+-. Both pricing also very near to each others.In terms of maintenance, which 1 will b cheaper? Heard some ppl said the K24 engine part quite costly.Any comment bout this 2 cars?

if you ask in this forum it will definitely be the E46.

Why?

Well one of it is the lack of features. The Honda accord sadly didn't even come with an onboard computer (fuel consumptions in l/100km ,distance to empty, bulb failures etc).
Another reason is that the Honda Accord since 2005 ,the built-quality and interior material is too plasticky if you can compare the dashboard in the E46 is padded while the accord came with hard cheap shiny plastic.

own the Accord 2005, bought new. reliable car and no major problem and just regular oil and filter change every 10K Km. Mileage 170KM up to date. Rotor and brake pad (so far I have changed) cost almost the same as BMW.
You should be able to find the BMW maintenance cost in this forum.
If I were you I will get the 325i, indeed I have one too (used car). A new 2005 accord cost Rm170K++, a new 2004 325i cost RM230K++. Really a good deal to get the UDM now.
Maintenance cost: 325 > Accord, Driving pleasure: 325 > Accord, Horse power and torque: 325 > Accord.

Isn't the 325i maintenance is more superior than the Honda Accord 2.4?

In terms of power & features for sure is E46 far more better than Accord. I just worry of later maintenance of the E46 will killing me.

You should be comparing the Accord with a 5series perhaps.

Anyhow, you'll be happy with either car. The Honda will be cheaper to maintain, get better gas mileage,
and probably be more reliable, but the BMW will be more fun to drive, offers higher quality materials and built.

Would you rather drive a slow(subjective), boring economy car, or a taught sports car?

If cheap (maintenance or otherwise) being an important factor for you, better opt for the Accord. BMW is a car for drivers with passion, as it gives you much more than satisfaction each drive......

I own 39 523i year 97 and an odyssey 200hp..my verdict, udm gives me more satisfaction and driving pleasure than my honda. But i love both for some reasons.
If u talk about maintenance of hundred thousand cars, both would cost u quite the same. My humble opinions only...

Nothing beats the driving pleasure of a UDM! But it's always good to have JDM as a reliable back up when the UDM goes for spa treatments etc.

owning a bmw e46 for 4 years, still until today im not getting bored driving it, and still today im learning new things about my UDM. there's a lot of hidden functions and tricks especially on ur OBC. its fun!
