actualy now im not tat confused hahhahah rite now i got saw one guy selling e46 coupe 2 doors 318CI 1800cc register 2006 manufacture 2002 price its rm57000. hmm forget the engine type so this price is it cheap to buy ka??anyway thx alot all sifu info ahhhh appreciate it much!!

RM 57,000 is average market price for year 2002, and if registration say 1895cc then its M43 engine (please refer above) It's a good engine very reliable and cheap to maintain however 40bhp less and sometimes come with 4 speed gearbox if its not steptronic. Most importantly car is in good condition with good service record. A badly maintained gearbox and engine can set you back RM20-30K in repair bills.

wooooow 20k til 30k OMG better buy new car loo like tat hhahaha

Its true bro, if the gearbox and engine are very ill, RM20,000 is minimum.

RM8000 for 5 speed manual or RM 4500 to refub your auto,
RM 6000 to overhaul your engine or RM13000 to change a new one if your engine block is cracked.
Shocks and suspension parts RM3000
Radiator system incl water pump, fan, heat exchanger RM1500
Steering rack and pump RM 1500
Wheel bearings and brakes rotors plus pads RM 1000
If your ABS pump rosak, RM1500 incl speed sensors

bro...

keep in mind that these cars are already 10yrs old...and its buying at that age obviously the parts will be timed to change. Rule of thumb when buying used Euros...

1) Low mileage
2) Less owners
3) Service / Parts changed history

The points above are negligible if you know the owner or is one of the forummer's cars. Major problem is coz these cars are sent to bawah pokok (non-specialist) and owners treating the car like shit. Even for mechs, best to find one that does not slaughter too much, helps if you form a rapport with him like I did with mine. Before plunging for a used unit, why don';t you get us to help tag along and see the car u've spotted? :)

The figures given by AS are the total amount, not all parts need to be changed altogeher, some can be staggered. Anyhow bottomline buying any used cars you should always budget 5-10k to refurbish it. If you're one of those who just want clockwork, get a new car :)

Cheers bro, hope this helps.

hey iceduke n guys thanks alot for sharing n helping hahahha very nice forummer ppl in here laaa.
Btw im from east malaysia kota kinabalu so cant bring you guys to spot that car though.
I get wat u mean 10yrs of cars its time to change new parts rite.
What im concern its let say u change all new parts but every 5month its gives you problem thn sure ur wallet hagus looo.
anyway my place ahhh not many ppl using bmw somemore e46 its hard to find ody unless u buy e90 la.

Most probably its a case of sambung bayar or you continue payment of the car. Means you plonk out cash to the owner, you sign some documents and service the monthly payments.

We have few members in KK and see where they lepak. Try PM bro Petrus.

I would say the best way to look at road tax *for me at least* would be to look at every 500 CC increment. To be honest though, road tax should be the least of your worries even if you're gonna get a 3.5. It's yearly and you'll just have to divide it by 12 to see its worth versus your income. Maintenance can be costly of course but that's a price many of us are willing to pay. We can't compare to japanese cars (malaysian cars aside considering the amount of freaking mark up at their SCs are insane to start with). The price however, gives us the ultimate driving pleasure and of course being a step higher than most around us and it's a great business tool regardless of status as employee or as an employer. There are more pros than cons.

My opinion however, head for the 2.5

yeah will slowly survey n times to search . road tax definitly its higher n oso the maintenance rite.
il aim for the 318 o 320 n 325 as long its 2 doors coupe coz its more sporty

I wonder how much is it cost to ship one from KL to KK? If via Harpwr Wira to Kuching its about 2k via local grey importer's contact.

Bro... buy la this beauty!

Look for 2004/2005 which still can apply for loan and usually comes in high specs.
