Hi wilsonfoo05, u r not alone. I'm going to get my F10 523i this july as my birthday present. LOL
btw, mind share your experience with 523i compare to 520i?
Cause I tested 320i, 520i & 528i (all turbo), but never tested 523i.
Found a lot forum said that 523i feel a lot less power than the 520i. (I know the spec difference, but don't know how much they differ in real world driving)
Thanks.

thanks bmwsolo hapi birthday in advance to u.lasy sat i drove from ipoh to kl to view a 520d bt when i arrived the sa say sorry to me many time n last told me d car was sold yesterday :banghead: .i knew the 523i n 520i r totally difren engine n d price oso difren.cheapest for 520i r not less than 200k.my target only 175-180k.so never mind be patient to get cheaper n good condition one.in mudah there is a 2011 520d private user selling 175k thought of going for it bt last sat don hv chance to test drive the 520d which already sold.

but if u need turbo jus go for 520i
since diesel maintenance will higher thn petrol 1
i own a 523i, since the pick up really hard compare with turbo
but i have try my top speed around 230km/h-240km/h
but advantage for turbo is high nm at low rpm, explored power, fast pick up........

but the price will stop u bro.......

jackzf,
Your 523i is Japan spec or CKD? Does it has Comfort mode? Does it has Dynamic Damping Control?
Thanks!

Hi Wilson....

Get a 520d. Better mileage and better torque. Most of the 20d owners here hardly let go of their 20d ride. That basically tells you how reliable this engine is.

Spoken to the service guys, they mentioned that the diesel engines are more hardy and less problems as compared to the petrol engines.

Euro 5 diesel coming soon hence it's not a problem. Been using a f10 520d since December last year, no problems.

Also,if you can afford....go for the LCI version. It's better specifications. Good luck in your hunt!

jackzf 180km/h is max for me since my wife n kids r still young :67:
pls get the chassis number and call to AB verify
and as the mil so high,so suppose them nv tune on it.

Bro, first batch CBU 523i already got Comfort mode, see paultan review. http://paultan.org/2010/05/07/bmw-unveils-all-new-f10-5-series-2-variants-from-rm398k/
So I think CKD also should have the same spec?
Better check if your's is CKD or not. :s:
Cause i found that white F10 (tested last weekend at PJ) is Japan Spec and doesn't have Comfort mode. P/S: that car condition is very bad, jerking gearbox...
Then i viewed another one yesterday http://www.mudah.my/BMW+523i+F10+New+Model+CKD+Local-35506177.htm , CKD with Comfort mode, condition 99% like new!

you are rite, Japan spec doesn't have comfort mode, not sure why! that's why its better to get local spec model. no surprises

if the gearbox is jerking, then better stay clear. the 8hp zf gearbox is suppose to be very reliable. changing the atf may solve the problem.
