Blue and Red Indicator Below the RPM reader

being new owner of the bmw, can I ask some advice here:1. what is the function of the blue and red indicator? I noticed both are operating automatically, do we need to pay attention to it when we drive and is there any way to operate it manually2. In Ecopro mode, the screen is showing the saving by extra mileage; are these done automatically fm the system? how accurate?rgds

Blue means charging or regenerating. Red means fuel consumption.

Eco pro additional mileage is an estimated addition mileage gain from fuel saving measures taken. Estimated by onboard computer. More of an encouragement rather than exact measure.

fyi.... you can change that blue/red indicator to actual fuel consumption from your idrive...

To me, the alternating "blue and red indicator" is merely an eye-candy, doesn't serve much purpose for majority of normal drivers.
