Greetings. I have a set ( front and back ) of M Sport coil/springs bought from someone who is driving e46 328. Was thinking of putting them in my e46 325 which suspension is due for change. Which absorbers would be the best match for M Sport coil/springs?Thanks.

In Senawang, Seremban. Car always in town where my office is. What about you.?

Are you recommending ori MSport with Boge..?

Have heard good reviews about M-Sport springs paired with Bilstein B8 or TITAN.

i've changed to titans, using m-sport springs.

I don't have much in terms of comparison, but from previous setup, which was with B8s, it's less bumpy but still stiff enough to control the body roll.

BTW, I'm also from Seremban, Temiang area but stay in PJ now. :)

Seems that TiTAN is a bit way off my budget.
Can I safely say that the best ( or better ) match would be MSport coils + B8..?

I guess so bro. I am on that setting but felt soft on highspeed but to harsh on rough road

Btw, was informed that e46 MSport version comes with MSport coils + MSport abs.
So, what brand is this MSport abs..?

It's important to get a good suspension for the rear otherwise the body roll, the soft ride and regular bottoming will destroy your ride quality and safety.

Msports ori abs are made by Sachs...and the model is Sachs Advantage (Red Colour). B8 is not really a match as it is too stiff IMHO. Titan would be best.

Ok, to those who have already experienced different types of suspension and different combination of coils+abs, could you guys please list the suspension in the order of hardness/stiffness.

For example, the hardest would be ( say.. ) B12, then maybe B8 + eibach, then maybe B8 + tien, bla bla bla and the softest would probably be the standard abs la...

If its impossible to list it as it all depends on the driving style and what the driver wants, then maybe just list it based on preferred suspension or preferred combination..

If it is not too much to ask..

Pretty sure Titan would be somewhere on top of the list..

This is based on my experience and summary of reviews from various drivers:

Rated from hardest to softest:

1. Bilstein B8 + H&R Springs - Firm and hard, may feel crashy at times

2. Bilstein B8 + Eibach springs aka B12 - Firm yet not too hard, only issue is Eibach springs tend to sag over time (Favourite setup at the moment, tested personally)

2.1 Bilstein B8 + M-Sport Springs - Similar to above combination but M-Sport springs are said to be longer lasting

*Read about few cases where the B8 failed within a year of purchase (jammed).

2.2 TITAN + M-Sport Springs - Similar to above combination but TITAN abs are serviceable and cheaper overall costs of maintenance

3. Boge Automatic + stock springs - Softest among all. Similar to stock, non-sport setup

Yet to try Koni coilover setups although my mech been recommending it.

One last question : With the MSport spring that I already have, how bad ( read : stupid ) would it be if I combine it with my standard e46 325 absorbers..??

With different rebound rate for both springs & abs, your stock abs lifespan may be greatly affected. Stock abs are never meant to be paired with sport springs. You may read more about this.

Thanks bro.

Actually I have been doing a lot of reading with regards to suspensions in this forum. But there just seemed to be so many different opinions and different recommendations.

Just called up BA and Bavarian kajang. No luck. They don't have Sachs Advantage.
Anyone knows where to get them..?

I dont know about others.. it seem that everyone will recommend b8 and they swear by it.. IHMO, b8 is just damn xxx hard, couple with our malaysia road condition, it makes me wanna throw up.
Recently my 7years old Msport abs just gave way, i decided to go with Koni yellow adjustable after long read up from other e46 m3 forum. price is slightly cheaper then b8 but not much different tho. Koni yellow is soft hard adjustable but only affect the rebounce rate. the softer the setting, the faster it rebounce hence making the suspension feels softer on uneven road but the handling remains coz the compression remains the same. The oversea users recommend for 1/2 turn for full comfort. 1 turn for best result, close to ori msport setting. i tried 1 1/2 turn.. too hard.. now i'm on 1turn, best setting ever. (max is 2turn)

Hope this help on your decision making process.

2.7k including installation if i not mistaken, coz i changed 2 front mounting and all bump stopper as well. total all in 3k.. not sure the price for b8, but was told 2.6k
cash n carry.

I find non of the BMWCM forumer use koni.. only titan and bilstein are commonly mentioned. Mayb their tolerance level is much more higher or too ego to admit their make a wrong decision. I would be no different from the rest.. Man EGO ^_^
No expericence on titan, adjustable but nid to send in for service, consider abit troublesome to me. A fren of mine, had it installed on e36, but the longer it stays, the harder it become.. nid send in service/adjust again. at the end... sold it.

Well, 3 of my frens also BMWCM club guest had driven my new setup also said good , balance between sportiness and comfort, almost msport setup. Couldnt recall all the link i read b4 but if u wan more details u can google it.
