hello there guys.....im a newbie here...driving an e30........been having this problem for almost 4 months now....the car is not a daily driver........everytime when it rains my driver side floorboard would be drenched in water....water would be dripping to the accelerator pedal and i dunno where it is coming from....brought the car the my mechanic but they cant locate the leak...any ideas??..i love to drive it but afraid of taking it for a spin coz it might rain......the weather is shitty these days!...

hi ritdijkit....most of E30 I know facing these problem..btw yours what year ? 87 & below lagi teruk..karat laa...
If you really want to know where the water came from, you have to take out the whole carpet & insulator/soundproof beneath..then only you can see how bad the condition is...he..he..he.. It's not an easy job, truly E30 lover will do it..I did it on both my E30....just love the smell of the wet carpet....

Then only you send it to workshop to do welding...so you wont be cheated by the ketuk body guy..like I had during my early years with E30...

Hope it help..happy motoring..cheers..

Dude,

Try checking your water drainage...it could be clogged with leafs and debris causing the water to overflow. Also check the sealing for you accelerator pedal. It could have just worned our, causing water to trickle in via the pedal.:)

Hope it works. :)

water drip when it rains with car on the move or stationary(when parked?)

car stationary - remove battery and check beneath it.a holed corrosion will make water drip over the accelerator pedal.(my personal experience)

car moving - check the wheel well for corrosion

thanks for the responce............mine is 84 model.......i think the water is coming from the water drainage......wait..let me just have a look first.....busy la these days!....cheers!

5.rusted at the floorboard,

6. wheel arch rusted

7.seepage from the doors, doorcard reput , plastic covering inside doors koyak.
