recent issue faced with my E39i just noticed that there is water dripping out from the undercarriage on the driver's side and this happens whenever the Message 'Wiper Fluid Low' appears on my dashboard. would anyone be able to confirm if :-i) is the Water Tank located under my driver's floorboards ? andii) does that leak come from the Water Tank located underneath ? how much would it set me back in order to have the water container changed ?any idea guys ? moderators ??

Water Containers are pretty robust and resilient, 2 other places to suspect are:-

1) "Washer filter", just a small pipe easily fixed for RM2.50/- OR
2) the water pump. The pump may be working fine, but is susceptible to leaks.

I had a similar problem on my 2003 E46 325i. changed the filter pipe and problem still persisted. Eventually located fault with the water pump, changed to OEM brand (Siemens) about RM120/- and problem resolved.

If you buy the parts yourself, you may be able to get it for less, should be easy to install.

Great news ! should be a breeze then changing it. how do i locate this area of leakage then ? it seems to be dripping from my undercarriage underneath my driver's side. i suspect the leak is taking place in there and if so, i would need to jack the car up in order to get to it. any pointers on how i could change the necessary assuming i get my hands on the replacement parts ?
