Well i feed her with frozen bloodworms, those in cubes one. Throw in 2 cubes a day and she eats like she never eaten anything for a year....gosh. Nowadays seldom buy small fish or prawns coz kesian see all the fishes kena telan. Lipas/ cicak/ lipan? erh not gonna try that :p Aro loves crickets. Some shops sell katak for aro to eat but dun wanna mess up the tank lah haha. By the way, whats the worse thing/ food u ever feed your aro? I tried b4 catching house flies for her to eat but bear in mind, only once coz house flies damn dirty and poisonous haha.

its good to train aro to take fish pellets coz cleaner and healthier but lack of certain protein and nutrients.

Try lipan (centipede)....it 's good for your fish colour & health
Yeah, this is true especially to give more color to it...
Used to buy those frogs for 30 cent each. Wondering how much is it nowdays...

In my honest opinion I think arowanas are best fed with live feed. These fishes are predatory by nature. In the amazon they actually jump out of the water to grab insects that rest on plants. I personally feed them with baby carps. The arowana is somewhat a strange fish. You dont need to take of the sengat from a lipan as they are imune to their poison. feeding lipans can be costly tho'. I use to feed my Pearl arowana the super worms as the fish shop use to call them. Now I just give my current arowana baby carps.. let him chase them a bit.

Agree with u sithwarrior. But do u feed only baby carps to your arowana? Then it is gonna cost u a bomb coz RM1 for 10 carps, and 10 carps not enought i believe. The best would be on a mixture diet...pellet food, baby carps, worms, crickets and ocassionally maybe can feed them with chicken liver.

Arapaima is also one cool fish :D It can grow into very huge size :D
However to appriciate arapaima, u have to see from above and it is meant to be kept in a pond or something...

Wooohooo....I love Arapaima! Pirrarucu as they called it in the South American. But for the time being have to tahan first...no place when it grows la.

Btw,I heard in puchong lake where i wakeboard got 2 of them. Both were thrown into the lake cos it grows to big for the house. Last I heard that it's already 6ft long....awesome.:D

I had one ( super red ) with me for 17 yrs. boutght it when he was 2+ --- but I was careless . Did not put a weitght on the wire netting covering the tank . It jumped up and die ! Sad !!! Bought another 4 months back ( 1yr old super red ) . It has been growing very fast --keep it in a 15Ft x 6Ft x2 ft "pond "

Wow Lennon, a 17-year-old arowana. How big was it? Sorry I dont keep this type of fish, the sight of its live food dashing around for their lives is a turnoff for me. I have a koi pond at home, just feed them pellets. Peace brother. Actually I am more into electric guitars, but thats another story altogether.

It was not very big ( approx 22 inch ) because my tank is 6.5ft x 1.5 ft x 1.5ft . The width is too shallow !! I was able to play with him -- stroke his back when filling up the tank . He likes the water jet ( jacuszzi effect ). He was trained to take pellet. This current aro lives with a bunch of kois and oscar . I feed juvinile bull frogs . will train him to take pellet once I transfer him to a tank. Aro can live more than 60 yrs.
