Guys,

Apparently Photobucket has made linking and 3rd party image hosting as a paid service beginning 28th June 2017. Some members here upload their pictures through the used-to-be-free service, would be facing an issue where an error appear instead of a picture.

Any suggestions on how to properly upload pictures, without compromising quality and definition?

I am not aware if there's any whilst I was in the committee 2014/16. Maybe the current CM can provide a solution. As it is, the forum is already registering low usage. Whatsapp and other social media seemed to be more popular and handy to use.

I have used tinypic.com in the past. It seems to work.

I just got a message from photobucket that they will disable 3 party hosting.
they already have jarance..... need to find alternatives

Hello all, just dropped by to share my concern. It seems that all the previous posts are useless now that 3rd party hosting is not allowed. I'm definitely not paying photobucket a single cent, I'll be removing my pictures from photobucket and keeping them locally until an alternative is found. Even if one is found, it will be impossible to edit all previous posts to point to the new location. Urgh

Been quite sometime since last saw u in here bro. Same concern for most of us. Alternatives have been suggested.

I've decided to host the pictures on my own for now, so I've set up a simple home server using some old hardware i got laying around. All of the drives picture has been deleted from photobucket so there will be dead link on my previous posts. Well, all posts in this forum will not be updated to point to the new host.

Manual conversion thread is properly maintained in my blog : http://aidilj.com/2014/01/e46-318i-2002-auto-to-manual-conversion/

This is the server hosting these pictures

I have quite a lot of postings here which is link to photobucket.

It is crazy to search all the posting and replace all the links with the new hosting link.. :stupid:

I was thinking probably you could ask the admin to search and replace all the links in the database once you found a new host, keeping image names the same. The problem right now is that I can't even download my albums from photobucket.. getting an error everytime
