aircond blower issue?

Lately my aircond is acting up... The vent at the passenger side and middle vent for the passenger is cold when you start the car but the other 2 vent at the driver set is blowing hot air.. Than after like 5 mins it will start to blow cold air but than not as cold as the passenger side....Anyone have this experience before?

Agreed with aidilj..mines also got this problem after replaced the compressor..go to the workshop and top up the gas then problem solved...

Most likely due to low gas. Might be a leak in the system too. It's pretty common for E46 where the cooling coil or compressor will fail after some time.

It could be the servo motor near the blower resistor. Exactly the same thing after I installed a new blower resistor. Because the blower resistor situated on the driver side thats , and its behind the servo motor. Thats why the servo motor need to be taken out during installation. After the mechanic did some adjustment to it , it's cold air blowing out.

I seem to have the same problem. can you advise what exactly did your mechanical do to solve the problem?

Hi Bro Yee...I have encountered similar problem before. Driver side air vents not blowing cool air. But for my case, I noticed my aircond producing bad smell too.
It was due to leak cooling coil. I have replaced the cooling coil at ZF. My aircond now producing very fresh air and its cool as ice. * Its was too cold until canot tahan d

I just went to the aircond mech and back.. I was told that it can be 2 reason :

1) There is a leak somewhere hence the gas pressure is not at full - this is for the temp.
2) The other reason is that the filter is dirty and need to be replace.

Anyway I was told that both process will take a few hours to change, and I was told to monitor on it a bit more because I just added gas last week.

Arif, oil leakage could be another good reason, but now the thing is servicing the air cond for E46 looks like a nightmare where we need to have major dismantling of dashboard etc. I had bad experience last week when they change the tube filter near the light housing, if it not really necessary would
not like to go through it..

Arif.. Is ZF good at doing this?

Bro Yee...I have replaced my cooling coil there. And yes..its quite scary to watch them dismantling the dash. But luckly there is no single rattling sounds or any other problem occur after they fixed back the dash. Can say that Im satisfied with their works and charges.
