OK, my ride is E36 318i manual year 92The problem was, with microfilter installed, hardly can feel the air blow inside the car though the speed is adjusted till max 4. Took it out, dont even need to switch to 2nd speed as the blow is sufficient. My question is what is the purpose having the filter as the air blow is insufficient or perhaps something else is wrong. anybody else kind enough to share in your experience.regardsmanjitE36 318i manual year 92

manjit, the filter has a purpose which is to filter out dust & other elements.

U can opt not to install but certain part/s can get very dirty & tough to clean.

Changing a new ones wun render u switching to the max. Could be wrong filter or sumthing else.

Ya,definitely something is not right there. Mine works fine. Just get the ori BMW microfilter. Normally if not enough flow, then we need to change the filter cause dirty already but your case is different.

manjit, you may have a leak in the microfilter compartment. The mechanic replacing my filter noticed that the enclosure cover for the micro filter was not sealing the compartment tight enough so cooled-air was essentially leak out to cool the areas underneath the dashboard. Once the enclosurement cover was fixed air-tight, improved air flow could be felt.

No leak for sure. I can really feel the air gushing thru once the filter is taken out, That shows the filter dp is extremely high and the filter is only 2 months old and still looks like new. How can that be possible. Even tried blowing air thru the filter and hardly any air is travelling thru. The same symtom was there before i changed the filter. Nak modify...leceh punya kerja....but nanti makan asap evryday.
