air con

when start engine, aircon blows normal air, not hot, not cold. i will either have to switch off and on the aircon switch to get cold air, or restart engine.this problem doesnt always happen. say 1 out of 5 times. went to naidu, was told that it could be the compressor. i didnt want to change anything unless i am very sure that it is caused by a faulty compressor. was quoted rm1400 for all in.any of you faced this prob before?

Hi all, anyone can give me some clue on this,

When i switch onn my aircond, there's whistling sound can hear from inside the car, but when you open car bonet, there's nothing wrong, even mech. says its not the bearing problem.

hi LiteBulb i face the same prob last mth but mine started when i purchased it on sep 2009. it all started with grunchy sound once in a while and the sound is gone when i off the A/C switch. until it started to blows normal air and i have to restart my engine. after a few survey i change my compressor RM700(based on the price i think its a recond parts). after all condition of the A/C is solve but not as cold as before, no more grunchy sound.

Folks, I'm reading in this thread a lot of e46 aircond problem, can you share what standard maintenance or service we should do to our car?
My ride is an CBU Japan Spec E46 1.9, no problems but just preventive measures...
