Anyone facing adjuster unit problem before?Mind to share your experience (symptom, cost of repair etc) cause my mech say mine is having symptom of failure now?

My symptoms are about the same as per the shared thread.
1) rattling sound hear from the valve during morning start up
2) engine very rough like diesel eng during morning start up too (will back to normal after warm up).
3) missfiring, have these error code when scanning, but mostly can be cleared off.
4) high fuel consumption.

i got my chop shop replacement for RM250 for M54B30.

Note that B25 and B30 has different size flaps due to different valve size

Thanks for the sharing bro haywire, think maybe I should look for a chop shop to get this part since the new one prices quite killing, but challenge is need to find a good condition unit.
BTW, what is the significant improvement for your car after changing the DISA, especially on the FC?

I was doing vaccum leak repairs (CCV and hoses) when i found out the disa valve were loose. So not sure which onw improved my car.

FC I never really monitored, since I always tekan whenever there in an opportunity so no point really to keep track. But full tank I normally get 430kms KL driving.

Btw most chop shops would have it, just test whether the flaps are loose or not

A brand new DISA valve cost about RM750 at Bavarian Auto. Symptoms for failure are high fuel consumptoon, ticking noise near DISA & loud suction noise.

Before changing the DISA, just remove it and inspect it.
If the flap is loose, then change it.

Yup, I have all these 3 symptoms now. Just thinking of try luck at some chop shop, if really can't get a good one, will have to go to BA then.

Is it easy to DIY removing and install it? Any special tool needed?

Quite easy DIY.. Just need the following tools

1. 10 size spanner
2. Flat Screw driver
3. set of torx key

and elbow grease

Try to google youtube for DISA change or ICV change.. Lot of info there.

Checked with BA today, DISA no more rm750, now about rm900+.
Ai...think need to focus on chop shop hunting now.
Btw, i know DISA model for 330 is different, how about 320, 325.and 318 (not sure got or not)? Are they using same model?

What is your model?

Bought a used DISA unit last weekend, but when put it side by side to compare with the existing unit, it's found that the outlook is a bit different. It's confirmed the DISA taken out form E46 unit and not 330 model, so I wonder is it because of the old vs new part number (1161 7502 269 vs 1161 7544 806) differences or it is totally a different model?

Anyone can advise?
Thanks.
