Hi all, I've searched high and low for clear cut answers, but everything I come up with comes out a shady gray
I have a 92 525I that blew its headgasket. I picked up an engine (unknowingly that it was out of a 95 w/VANOS), dropped it in, and now I get a "no-start problem."
I'm definitely thinking it has to do with cam timing because it backfires 3-4 times when attempting to start the engine. Is it possible to strip this engine of the VANOS or should I get a 3.3.1 DME and harness for a VANOS equipped engine? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
