View attachment 30542Today, my 6 months old F30 is showing up alert message of "Increased battery discharge when stationary. Electrical consumers were temporary switched off". Without further delay, I sent it to dealer for diagnose. Initially, they claim that the battery is weak due to lacking of long journey drive. I don't quite agree with them, not making sense to me unless the battery is old. However, the SC insist to recharge my battery and check the health status of the battery, so I agree to let them to proceed. After 30min charging, the battery level is not improving at all and they request for long time for diagnose. I have no choice but to leave my car to them for further diagnosis. I hope there isn't any major issue. But, luckily this is not happen in outstation or drive to oversea (Singapore/Thai).Does any Bro facing the similar problem before on your lovely UDM? Mind to share your experience? Thank you.

It happened to me last time. The massage suddenly appeared which require me to recharge the battery.I think this is due to the Eco pro technology. If you noticed, when you drive at certain speed and you release the gas paddle,it actually recharing your battery.cheers:top:

F30 Manual indicates charging the battery is required when making frequent short trips.
Not sure what BMW's definition of 'short' trip is.

SC reset my battery setting and recharge it. Took back my car today and will monitor it.

I don't see how this problem is related to Eco pro mode. Your car should be recharging the battery the moment the engine started and the recharge is stronger as you rev up the engine speed. The charge is generated from the alternator.

Do agreed with you bro...
Once the eng is started the alternator will charge the bat and supply certain amount of power to certain amount of items...

I search in internet, this kind of issue could be due to various reason. If the problem can be resolve, then ok. If the problem keep on coming with intermittent and hard to contain the root cause, that will become nightmare..... The more electronics control in our vehicle, the higher chances of failure. UDM will become UFM..... F="Failure"

Bro I had the same issue early this year. Did u recently sent your car to service? Sharing my experience, mine was due to they did not connect the alternator cable properly. That caused battery cannot be charged. Try checking is there any burn smell coming out from your engine.

Bro, I have not done any service. The only thing I did was 3 months ago when my UDM was hit and run, I brought my car to SC for spray paint the bumper and the car was retain for 4~5 days. After that, everything was fine until this monday afternoon when the alert sign appear.

Hi 080808,

Did they change your battery or just recharge?

This message just appeared in my F10 yesterday. Mine is 20 months old baby. Perhaps it's the battery lifespan. Is battery covered under warranty?:cool::cool:

The battery on my e39 lasted a lot longer - close to 3 years!
