Hi guys,I recently did a 5 lug conversion but, im having some teething problems.would appreciate if any of the sifus have some idea on how to solve my problem.Im running 17x7.5j rims with 225 45 tyres, however at full steering lock, the inside of my front rims rubs the corner of my anti roll bars. are these my only options?1) Remind myself not to full lock when driving??? (#@!%)2) changing to a smaller width rim 17x7j ?help needed!!

I'm guessing another option is to install spacers to space your wheels out thus giving more clearance to inner components. Check that it doesn't then cause issues with your fender though.

If the rubbing is very minor, you could try 215 or 205 tires instead.

I've added 5mm spacers on already but still doesnt really help. a little bit of difference only
adding more spacers and my wheels stick out like a sore thumb and im already starting to have fender problems.
changed my front tyres to 215 as well but still no luck.

running the standard e36 offset
ET38
Someone will be selling the rim soon...

Thats your problem, try change it to 5er rims with less ET. Avoid spacer if you can. I wonder who gave you the advise on installing the e36 wheels with that ET?

You have to understand that with any mode, it will most certainly compramise other parts. The stock set up factored in safety, drivability, durability and stability. Make sure you understand what you are getting yourself into and what need to be done.

If you want a hassle free none issue straight forward car, sick to stock set up or around that range.

Which steering rack are you using? Simple solution, you just need to install this:

I am running 5 lug ET38 17 X 7.5 in front with no spacers, and have no rubbing at all after installing it. Refurbished my rims afterwards and not even a scratch on the inside till now. Don't worry about the reduced rack travel, my turning radius is actually improved now since I can do full lock without fear.

The kit is actually quite simple and they pretty much tell you how it works online. I'm sure a boleh workshop could probably fabricate something similar if you have difficulties ordering from the US, or are using a rack they don't have a kit for.

Hi,

I found out about this rack stop kit from tuner and ordered it last week as well, waiting for them to come in and install. I cant wait for it! thanks!Glad to have some positive feedback! the grinding noise on the inside of my rim and sway bars are driving me crazy.

Hi guys, just a bit of feedback if any of you want to buy this kit. the 16mm stoppers are WAY too much. I just got them installed and I cannot make a U turn into a 3 lane road. Gonna get them shaved!
