listen to the YouTube link below. i stepped on the throttle and listen to the intake sound. best listened with external audi blasted high. anyway, especially to 330i owners, is this normal? the filter is K&N drop in. please admin, if you could embed, it would be nice :) thanks.http://youtu.be/S26N9u1YKGE

Sweet! Stock intake with any aftermarket panel filter is still the best :top:

Am on BMC CDA it gives a roaring sound compared to yours though ...

OP why is your instrument cluster lighted with more than a couple of check lights?

Sound is ok but can be more throaty me reckon...

so it is normal? phewww! well anyway, i would definitely go for a free flowing air intake like the BMC CDA bro. i was actually stunned because my previous E92 335i was not like that haha.

Yes it is normal to have a loud suction sound due to easier breathing provided by the K&N. Stock intake is best for performance simply because air is drawn in from the outside via the nose grill ... BMC CDA, GruppM or any other intake solution draws the air inside the engine thus it's not optimal especially during the day. At highway speed however it gets better for the BMC type intake.

p/s: agree with BC, you need to check out the cel and brake lights see whats going on.

BlackCat, not too sure but i've been asking the mechs to keep on deleting it but it still came up. it was not lighted for a day or two untill i rev hard! right after that, the check light will come up. i don't know, perhaps it's the vacuum leak or something. i am getting it checked up again tomorrow though.

From the video, looks like:

Left - CEL
Right - Airbag, brake sensor

mine has deeper growl...but then it has stock intake. I thought yours sounded weird for a drop in...not normal to me

Sounded much better than mine with 500cc less! But does the K&N enhanced the sound, just wondering?

that is what i wonder too. i had never used a drop in in any of my other cars before this haha. it has always been a CAI or open pods.

hmm best compared in real life. All the e46 330i/ci needs to do a TT session la like this hehe.
