Hi Bruce,
Parts like interior lights can be bought new from any BMW distributor and they are really not that expensive...

The front headlight height adjustment knob and rod can be bought brand new.

There are areas of concern like difficulty to obtain power steering racks, chop shop parts are on the hunt by many enthusiasts due to growing number of new E30 users.

Restoring this car requires lots of patience and proper direction.

Checking + getting rid of rust + taking care of the body work and under carriage is an absolute must.

I have one and there is still long way to go before I hit the goal...Hopefully until I reach there, my mind still stays the same...

Hi guys,

Thanks for the encouraging words of wisdom!! Im hanging in there....I washed the car on sunday and the warm fuzzy feeling has returned....need to join one of the E30 TT sessions with you guys to chill out also lah....:18:

a nice place to meet wud be rasta ttdi in the afternoon. ample parking right infront of the minum2 place. wud love to see a bunch of E30's parked.. miss having one too goddamn much!

Yeah afternoons there are quite empty, so lots of place to park together haha.
About 2 mins away from my house too lol.

bruce_z: It sounds like one side of your headlights came from an E30 with the dashboard controlled headlight aiming system. Not sure, but you can try removing the motor and replacing it with just the manually turned knob for adjustment.

Maybe thats the ONLY way...one thing though, will you be able to source all the parts that you need? Parts are pretty scarce in my newbie view...hard to put the car back in its tip top shape, ijunless we can source direct from the UK for example, even ebay is hit and miss. Case in point...the those damn brittle interiror plastic lights at the ceiling, code plugs, fog light switches (!) etc etc........

This E30 appeal is slowly going down the tubes....

it's the interior lights holder that is brittle

i have 2 holders for sunroof fitted cars, its in perfect condition
without these , you cant mount the interior lites properly and loads of other spares and switches

pm me if you need anything and i'll see if i have it in my storeroom

well, if there's going to be ample turnout, let's do one this sat or sun. can exchange notes!

yeah sweet, let do a meet up. I also live minutes away. gonna bite the bullet and say.....Sunday 4pm?

sounds great.. i'll start a new thread. this particular page is for bruce to vent his frustrations :) all you fellas here put down your name ya, and see you all sunday.

Yes, I think the right side light fitted came from such a car. Bu Im not sure if mine originally had that feature since on the left side light, there is only a manual adjustment knob. My current lower right dash does not have the adjustment switch. Ill check with the mech to see if this light can be modified to allow manual adjustmehnt. Right now the right side light is pointing to the ground - almost..

Talking abt lights....my hazard lights only flashes the right indicators but not the left. , Pretty strangesince the left indicators do work normally if the turning indicator stalk is used...
