Not true la. Thats sales man talk. Just look at the engine redline (6.5k redline for 323i) on the rev counter and rev the car to see if it passes the 6.5k rpm redline :). The 323i is not able to do this for sure and only the 325i can sing at 7k+ rpms. Rev counter for the 325i also reflects the higher redline.

I'll try it on my 325 anyone wants to try it on their 323 LCI.

The LCI 325i sports is much more comfortable than the pre LCI 325i sports. I have just changed my pre LCI 325i to the new LCI 325i and I love the comfort. The compromise between road holding and comfort is much better though it actually roll a slightly more than the older version.

So do compare the new LCI 325i with 323. Do not use the pre LCI 325 as it is really very very stiff. However of course the pre LCI can make ULU YAM roads seems much straighter!

i think thicker tyre wall may help improve the comfort of 325i. try going down 17' with non-RFT.

During my test of the LCI 325i Sports, I felt the ride is very much harsher than my pre-LCI 325i.

I'm puzzled.

I think you mean a thinner tire sidewall of a non-RFT and going down to 17" will help improve ride comfort of a 325i Sport

I mean in M-Sports kit. Not the normal 325i. Are you referring to the normal 325i or sports version?

I dont understand what you mean as an M-Sports kit.

I answer to your question, please read my statement again.

In your answer you just mentioned pre LCI 325 in your last sentence. Read it more carefully. During pre LCI, BMW offers both, 325i and 325i sports.

I suspect the new LCI 325i sport uses the latest generation Bridgestone RFTs meaning that the tyre sidewall is not stiff under zero pressure offering much improved ride (almost like non-RFTs). Can anyone with the LCI 325i try to release air in their tyres to see if the sidewalls stand stiff or deflate like normal non-RFTs and confirm this :D. Also the rear shocks is made by Bilstein for the LCI instead of SACHs (pre LCI) if I remember right.

I sense the main culprit is the RFT. On 18"s, it was pretty unbearable on my E92. Now that I'm running on non-RFTs, I can tell ya it's a world of difference!

I didnt include "Sports" in my Pre-LCI 325i statement, did I

I suspect this is true. How did you reconcile not having a spare.

I am also interested in the Bridgestone RFTs

get a M mobility kit in the boot. or join AAM.

i find changing a flat along road shoulder is not safe nowadays, pump the sealant or call AAM flatbed.

lots of us are running Non-RFT, mostly on 18' and 19' with better/softer rubber eg. Michelin PS2 and the like...go do survey.

dont mind me asking you a question, Can you remember how many times you had a flat during your entire ownership of vehicles? once every month?

Yes, I do agree that 325 M Sports is harsh on rough roads, thats why I am thinking of changing to normal tyres. By the way Golf GTI is different, lower class as compared to BMW....

Come to think of it in my entire 35yrs of driving, I had only experienced 2 high speed blowouts and possibly 4 flats. That makes 1 in 6 years.

And I agree with AAM now being more available than before.

Emm worth thinking about.

In fact if my recollection is correct, my last 4 cars were sold with the spare never seeing the light of day.

Any idea how effective is the Mobility kit and how much does it cost (just for peace of mind)

i got mine from PML at around SGD240 (with 1 additional spare sealant) thereabout in 2007.

i guess E46F posted the recent price of the mobility kit on the forum, do a search, its somewhere around Rm500-600.

As a former VW owner, I beg to differ here. VW is not in the same class as BMW or Merc. If it were Audi, yes I would agree, but not VW. VW's are nice and very reliable, and there are some especially luxurious models, but generally, their target market is the mass market, not the high-end luxury segment. For that, VW has Audi.

I agree wholeheartedly. For the moment, the only real bright spark from VW is the Golf GTi.
