Hi all,Is anyone got his F30 enhanced with the power kit? I had checked with Quill, but the SA told me that it wasnt available yet. It has been so long since launched.....Thanks.

eh?.... Quill Auto service advisor called me last week and informed me that the Powerkit for f30 320D just arrived and asked me whether I want one. He said it cost shy of RM8000. Strange that you received a completely different info from the SA there. If you are really interested in the Powerkit, let me know what else you want to find out as I'll be meeting the Service Advisor tomorrow and I can channel your queries to him or get him to call you.

Hi c-square,
Thank you for your offer. I would like to know below.
1. How long it takes to deliver the parts?
2. The confirm horsepower/torque after upgrade.
3. How's the fuel consumption after upgrade?
4. Will that affect warranty? Insurance?

Who is your SA? I bought my car from quill, with a guy SA, and his english name start with "M". I found he is not so responding after delivered my car. And he did not deliver what he promised. Very typical salesman.

Thank you so much bro.

No problems, bro. I check those things for you tomorrow when i meet the service advisor.

Just spoke to the Service Advisor on your enquiries.
1) It will take about 2 weeks for the parts to arrive for your installation. Reason being they need your vin number to order the powerkit

2) after installation the powerkit should increase your torque by another 40Nm and horsepower between 16-20hp

3) cannot comment on the fuel consumption as it depends a lot on how much and how frequently you stomp your car. Anyway, If you drive as you would normally, you'll probably lose only about 50km for every full tank, that is instead of 900km you might get only 850km

4) the powerkit will not void the car warranty nor affect your insurance since it is supplied and installed by BMW. But if you install from outside (unauthorized dealer) then the warranty will be voided.

The Service Advisor said the current price of below 8-grand is a promotional price and he's not see how long it will last. Was informed that the price is all inclusive including all peripheral parts and labour which could possibly come to 4-grand as the installation of the powerkit will require, amongst others, an upgrade of the intercooler, electric fan, some circuit board, re-programming of ECU (or so I was told). Apparently when promotion ends like those for the e90 the powerkit retails at above RM11,000.

Hope the above helps.

Cheers

Thanks bro for your info. The final price is RM8000? Last time i saw the parts with lable "Performance kit for F30, RM6800" in Quill, but the SA told me it is for E90. I start to doubt about them, feel quite unreliable.

You got your car from Quill as well? I am thinking to check this out for other showroom with better service. Any recommendation?

Yeah, I got my car from Quill. You could check with the other BMW dealerships to enquire about the price of the powerkit but my guess is that they should all give similar quote. Anyway, you should only go to the BMW dealerships which you are comfortable with, be it Quill, Ingress, Wearnes or Auto Bavaria. Different people have vry different experience with these dealerships. Let me know if you want the contact person of the Service Advisor that I spoke with (unfortunately he is at Quill) to confirm the exact price. When I spoke to him, he just gave a rough number based on his recollection of a Circular sent out by BMW Malaysia. He offered to dig it out from his email but I said no need as I didn't want to trouble him further as I wasn't really looking into installing the powerkit myself.....until later when they have a demo car for me to try it out first to see whether i like it or not.

Some say (SA) u can get the power kit from Singapore, tax free, therefore cheaper. 1yr intl warranty instead of 3 from local. I can't find any pricing indication or owner chatter about the kit from Singapore. Anyone got any leads to this?

Wasn't that article meant for the E90 models. If I'm not mistaken this is a Sept 2011 article right (based on the dates)

Engine is the same on the E90 and the F30 as well, so I am also assuming the power kit acts the same. At the end of the day, all the powerkit does is pushes your turbo a little harder but it does come with uprated components such as the intercooler. A cheaper alternative is to get a tuning box which is easily installed and removed.
