Will I ran into any problem with 215/45/17 tires on front, and 225/45/17 tires on rear ?With the different of less than 1.5%, I should be fine. But open for advice, tips, opinion and suggestion :D:love:

Should be ok right?

I know some people run 225 front and 245 rear on e36. No scrubbing.

That's what I am using and it still has room to spare

why dont u just run on 225/45/17 all around. Make the car look nicer becos of the wider stance it takes.

215/45/17 front & 225/45/17 rear on E36 should be allright as long as you use all 4 tyres with hard-compound rubber & harder sidewalls. But the question is, why whould you wanna do that? What are the known advantages?:)

juz a quick guess frm me... maybe 215/45 easier to source especially used but good cond tyres....
anyway so 215/45 all ard is no no for the e36 right??

the only problem i faced with 225/45 in the front is the inner tyre wall seems to rub on the frame ...i think this happens when you take a sharp turn ....

Using 225/45/17 on all fours with H&R and B8. No scrubbing but with occasional scraps at the bottom while exiting very steep ramps.

I'm on 225 front and 245 rear on e36. No issues here. In fact feels better. B4 was using Bridgestone RFT damn bumpy. Now on Michelin PP2 front and PS2 back so much more comfortable.

Cheers

Using 225/45/17 front and 235/45/17 rear... no prob at all... will change to 245/40/17 for the rear the next round... no problems with scrubbing or anything....

it shouldn't rub the frame... try checking if all your screws are still in their housing.... 1 of mine came off and this caused the tyres to rub the frame...

what screws? would you care to elaborate?

I jacked up my ride yesterday, the inner mudguard / frame area has been badly scraped. Think its due to the ball joints & front suspensions, times up la:cool:

yup what screws is that .... i think could be due to the the rims offset or so ...usually not many ppl noticed this inner scrubing ... unless they jack up their car and do the inspection ...or you may turn the rims to the furthers left or right and use a torchlight to check ....

Not screws sorry... it's the nuts holding the frame inside the wheel well... i think i messed up usin the word frame... it's the black plastic piece inside the wheel arch... is that what we are calling frame here??? hahaha... it's just based on my experience and my 2 cents to why you guys are experiencing the scrapping problem... but like what ICEMAN 13 said, it could also be due to the incorrect offset... for my case, a nut securing the plastic frame came off the housing and this caused the black plastic frame which it was holding inside the wheel well to rub against the tyre when taking a turn... occured for both front left and right tyres...

We usually call the black piece "banana peel". Well in cantonese at least. LOL.
