Dear Sifus,

Had a top overhaul done last month. Ever since, the engine oil light (yellow) will come on for 30 seconds then go off. No oil leak though. Also, the ac blower has a vibrating sound. It goes off if I switch off the compressor button. Also it increases with acceleration.

Appreciate any input :)

Who did the top overhaul for you? IMO, your engine has quite a bit of sludge at the bottom end. You may need to look at the oil pump. Could be clogged / chocked.

Aircond, go back to Ah Yaw (SSG) he should be able to sort that issue. You probably need a new blower motor.

Did the top overhaul at M1 Segambut. Was disappointed with the result to be honest. 2 weeks after collecting my car, I noticed a small leak by chance when I was doing my alignment. Went back to M1 and spoke to Ah Meng. He saw and he said it's a leak indeed. Then he realised that the engine oil was over filled. He got his staff to empty drain the oil. Was overfilled by almost 1 liter.

He asked me to come back another day and to leave car so they can check thoroughly.

I went to SSG this morning and the noise was too faint. Will go back when its stronger (sounds like a motor boat). Changing blower means have to take out dashboard?

I think you should go back to M1 & see what they is their opinion about the delayed engine oil light. M1 are very experienced people.

On my E46 N42 I only use 4 Litres of engine oil during oil change. I rather have the oil level right or just slightly below the mark on the dip stick. Strictly no over filling.

On the AC blower motor replacement, I think the dash board has to be removed. Ah Yaw just did that for my other E46. He also replaced the resistor & wiring to the resistor. It seems quite common that the connectors get burn marks if the resistor is faulty.

Sent to M1 last week for service and they sorted out the noise from the dash board. Apparently it was a hose knocking, not too sure which hose though.

It is good to send back to the workshop for them to rectify the problem. I have used M1 for many years and I think they will always stand by their workmanship and parts.

btw, have you managed to resolve the oil pressure problem?

As for the noise in the dashboard, I dont think it is related to the top overhaul of your engine that was carried out.

Bro Jarance, yes the oil pressure issue was solved. The engine top cover was slightly cracked and M1 replaced that. No more leak and no more light after that. I forgot the name of the top cover, will update later today or tomorrow

I had this engine oil light coming on and off too.
In my case, it appears only when the car is stalled (ie; at the traffic light)
No light when its moving or when i rev the engine.
Changed oil pressure sensor. No difference.
What's next? Oil level sensor?

Maybe. I had the same problem with this engine oil light.
Just now I asked my mechanic he said oil level sensor.
Have you already sort out this problem? or anyone had done it?
How much for this oil level sensor?
