hello.just bought 1st e36 this year. 320 convert to 2.5 single vanos, UK spec.quite good but a lot wear and tear got to do.need some help from others owner.as far, i just bought new rear absorber that cost me rm 500 but my friends said it just rm200 for 1pair. is that true?can you guys help me list the item and the cost that you guys just change and bought.also got minor problem with radiator as i post in this forum.http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/showthread.php?49591-e36-several-problemthanks you for helping me.

Hi it is good to go intro yourself at the newbie corner.

Secondly you will need to provide more information on your specs.
Another thing to note is if it was a converted car it is quite hard to confirm as we dont know how was the conversion done. any short cut taken? is the ecu correct type etc etc etc etc etc.

for the absorber question again which model of absorber?
there is a sticky post at the top of e36 page. parts and maintainance. should have some prices there but again which model is yours?

hi. i already intro myself at newbie corner. thanks for remind me. :top:
unfortunately, the car at penang so i cannot post the picture here. as far before i bought that car, the previous owner own bmw workshop at kajang. he said the previous owner change from 2.0 to 2.5. and i still not check the fully wiring about the car. however, i change the alarm, acc shop open the glove box and i noticed some wire got burn but we did not cut and paste since i know bmw cannot simple do that. and i still noob about bmw but stupid enough to buy this car without any knowledge.

that absorber as far i remember is not bilstein brand but the box is blue and white. i will conform back after this lunch hour.

i know there are part and maintenance at the top page for e36 but to many page so taking me long time to read it. i hope maybe someone can help me with that before got trick by shop or person who sell bmw item at website.

Hi hi ok, well that is the scary part about different wirings. Blue and white might be sachs absorbers. not sure about the price for that. actually one simple way is you could always call bavaria auto, inner power, or any bmw parts supplier directly and enquire on the price. they will give you their prices directly.

thanks for advise slyder. after got trick by that sales person, got to beware and always call the specialist.
are there any glue for radiator? i means heat resistance since my radiator got leak at drain hole. small hole. the temp increase after long distance or 2/3 working days. tired to fill up the water into radiator.

hehehe. same as me. really worthy to buy bmw compare to local car. not to underestimate local car but for 25k, i got 2.5cc, sunroof and many features on car compare others car. of course yes, mixture of feeling while driving first bmw even 2nd. bmw=banyak makan wang but i really want to make this car value for money. just usual servis like others car but for starter, got many wear and tear to do and that need much money.

still thinking how to fix the radiator.

yeah. i planning to get new one but still dont have time. need to find the price first.

can i remove thermostat because my temp level always at half or meter. just start the car for 5 minutes then the temp already half meter. can i remove or not to do it?

I think for temp gauge at center (half meter) is normal for our car. But for Jap cars should below half meter laa.

forgot one thing la.
the gear change to fast. if release the pedal, gear change to low gear fast. not like others auto gearbox. is that normal?

There is a possibility that the conversion was not a complete one. meaning it could have just been engine change without changing the rear differential. you should check what is your rear differential ratio number
