I have an option of fitting my e46 318i with either a 17" rim or 18" rim, the 17" is M-tech rim and the 18" is MUTEC rims. What is your advise guys?I am not a racer but just want the ride to look good only.Is the 18" tyre very expensive, I mean 1K?? or less.

Depends on what you aim for. For a comparison, the 18" SP9000 is about 600 odd.

thanks pal!! and the 17" tyre would be........???

Is MUTEC sports rim a ok?? Is it a Japanese made???

I mean compare to a M-Tech rim.

I changed mine to 18" from 17" & there is a drop in acceleration. However, it looks real cool man! So, if you don't mind the loss in performance, go ahead. I use Falkens which is about RM 450.

thanks pal!! I can bear with a bit of "loss" performance.
Wow the tyre is not that expensive.
Great.

By the way have you heard about MUTEC rims?? Is it ok??

Not sure bout MUTEC though. Maybe the senior sifooos would be able to help out. I;m running on BMW Type 44 17" rims. The sizes are 225/45R17 front and back, Michelin Pilot Precedas...approx. RM450 a pc.

Personally I don't like the M-TECH rim (i presume this is the BMW 17" rims on the SMGs). The rims looks like 16" to me. The type 44 has a wide look and thus from far its like having 18". But, give me Hamann HM2 18" anytime dude...

yup it is the smg and u r rite about it look like 16"!
18" is nice i think.
Thanks breder

Hi

I am also planning to upgrade my rim. Still thinking whether its 17" or 18".
Anyone out there knows any good shop for replica rims :eek:k: (cut cost).
