guys, Anyone has ideas whether is possible for us to get this done locally?..anyone remap their ECU on their X5?..thanks guys:top:

never did it b4, the 3.0 is quite powerful alrdy lah wat somore u wan but there r people can do it. Got pros and cons one.

cp,

hehee...nah, was just wondering whether anyone has done it here locally to their X5...:)
the 3.0i is no doubt very good to drive especially with the continuos variable transmission that provides all the optimum torque...

Personally I feel the X5 3.0 is underpowered, or rather, overweight. However, I'm a bit skeptical with regards to 'doctoring' the engine due to reliability issues. Further, the wifey drives the car most of the time, so I think the extra shove is waaay down her priority list.

If only the Malaysian roadtax structure does not punish high cc engines... The X5 4.4i would've been closer to perfection..

totally agreed on the 4.4i engine output figures...

reliability of modifying the engine on the other hand very much depending on the person or workshop who is carrying out the work. From my personal experiences, it is still very reliable even for my M3, provided that it was done bythe correct party..cheers!

definitely 4.4 is more powerful but 3.0 is adequate for me personally especially u r in malaysia.

I did the remap for a few X5 3.0 and 4.4. Good feedback.
