X5 non self leveling maintainace

hi guys,i know there has been a lot of discussion about this topic but i want to pin point some question. from what i have gathered all the gurus here is that one of the most expensive cost to maintain the X5 is the self leveling system as of all other 4X4 with hydrological suspension ie Range rovers.if i were to get an 3.0 X5 without the self leveling system what other problems will there be. say a 01 model. is there such a model? the reason i'm asking this this because i'm contemplating on either getting an older X5 or a murano. the price range is around the same at 140k, but i have always loved the X5 but the discussions on the cost of maintaining the X5 is really giving me a scare.if the cost is roughly around the cost of an e39 then i think it is still ok.thanks for the feedback in advance.ed
