As above, looking for a E36 coupe, doesn't matter if its 318, 320, 325 or 328 as the engine will be swapped out for something else. I repeat, only coupe's and not sedans.Show me what you have and we can something out. Thanks.

the day before you posted there was one mudah 325i coupe >40k..must have been sold or deleted. got one well maintained with many goodies, price >50k..I'm not associated with the sale, just known from the the last TT

anymore ? i have 4 cars to choose from now. the engine for the car has just arrived from jap land.

i have a 2002 2JZ-VVTi Engine ready to be dropped in. Ready to eat up an M3 or an M5 anytime of the day:) chassis wise, it will be strengthened and reinforced.

An e36 with a 2jz-vvti engine..? It's only good for the occassional weekend or nite time drives on the empty highways. Definitely not suitable for daily drives around KL roads in the daytime.
Unless the mod is done perfectly or maintenance cost is the main concern here, the cons of modding a bmw with a japanese engine are more than the pros. Might as well get a true E36 M3.... better daily useability, better drive, less electronics maintenance headaches, and better safety. A lot of modded BMWs with japanese 1JZ, 2jZ, SR20, RB20,25,26 drive like crap.

have you ever had a car with a 2jz engine in it yourself to make that firm comment of yours? they are more reliable than any engines i've had since started owning and playing with cars during my studies in Australia. I've had a RB26 R32 GTR, SR20 det 180sx, 2jz vvti completely stock Supra, a Rb 25 det R33 GTS-T Skyline and lastly a 1JZ VVT-i Toyota Chaser.

The most reliable of them all is the 2jz vvti supra and the 1jz chaser. And yes believe it or not, they are fuel economical too (off boost), and maintenance wise would just be your regular oil change and filter changes. My current neighbour has a 2jz VVT-i Toyota Aristo for the past 8 years, and never had i heard of any problems with his car, and he uses it daily from work to home and then to fetch his kids and wife.

What you claimed about " only good for the occassional weekend or nite time drives on the empty highways. Definitely not suitable for daily drives around KL roads in the daytime". will be laughed upon by too many people who knows these engines in and out. As a matter of fact, once the BMW engines reach the 5 to 10 year old mark, all you are waiting for are just piles of bills to pay for repairs.

I don't blame you when you say they drive like crap, well thats of course without a doubt since most are done by local neighborhood CRAP mechanics in Malaysia who splice wires here and there and have very little knowledge on it. I know of a few well known places in malaysia who are renown for doing 1jz and 2jz swaps, and i've only heard of good stories and recommendations from customers.

A true E36 M3 would be eaten up easily and would cost more to maintain than a stock 2jz VVT-i swapped engine thats for sure. Furthermore, the 2jz's are much more fun and spare parts are a dime a dozen. I speak from experience and knowledge from having played with almost all jap engines (pre-2000 era), and also a few bmw engines having owned a 320is 12 years ago (my dad's), E30 (project car in australia), a E39 and a E60 which are both family cars.

If you make such an affirmative comment like what you just did, at least tell us all what is it based on ? experience ? hear-say ? gut feeling? research? or your friend/kawan/ah bang tell you so ?

Engine bay look like crap ? i must have sore eyes then, or i must be blind.

Like I said, unless if cost is one of the main concerned here, the cons are more than the pros in modding a BMW with a non-BMW engine.
As of what whether I have driven any of the said engines, well, my old ass has owned more than 20+ modded cars in my younger life.. from a TA28 and TA22 with 4AGe, an E32 with 2JZ-Gte, Datsun Cedric 280C with a RB26, a Frontera with a SR20det, and yes the classic Toyota Supra. The engine transplants stopped the moment I got hold of a stock E46 325i, even subsequently bought a E46 318i for the missus, although she has now dump the ride aside in the garage for the Golf.

Looking back, most of the mods were just crap... hard power without real oomph, just like sex without ejaculation. Try driving an E36 or E46 M3 for a month and compare that to one of your friends modded 2JZ E36 after a month and you will know what I mean. Plus, there are also just so many good stock BMWs out there, the 335i or even the new F30.

At the end of the day, if we want a Toyota engine, might as well drive a real Toyota.
