WTA / WTB : E39 aircond controller (MAX button)

dear sifu,anyone has item stated above to sell ? how much is the market rate current on going ? my aicond controller could not adjust acordingly (always cold) the only way i adjust the temp is the heater dial (near the centre aircond vent).

Quite a while ago, one of our OM replaced this part at Naidu for RM 800 (used one). Heard quite difficult to get this part as yours is a facelift e39.

Are u sure its the panel and not the hedgehog? Ebay is your best bet I guess, not many facelift potongs enter the country...

I just went through this. You need this part. 64116916641. Very hard to find locally. The ones available cannot be used. Even with the MAX button. Either the fan don't run or the controls don't work. I ended up buying from Ebay for RM450. I guess that's your only choice.

Are you sure the climate control module is faulty..if i were you, i would;
1. check the sensor in that module is not blocked by dirt or anything (small vent on the lower left corner of the module) take the module out and clean the mini fan and sorrounding area..it's much easier to take the radio out first and push the controller from the back. this sensor is required to regulate the climate in the cabin..try putting a cup of hot coffee in front of it.. and u will see what happen
2. do you still have the heater hose connected..? this is also part of climate regulation system. a simple aircon system will just cut off the compressor when it reached the desired temperature, but our system is "climate control" system which utilise the heater to regulate the temperature, together with outside temperature sensor and and solar sensor on your dashboard (black square thing at the bottom of the windscreen in one of the air vent)..

thank bro aliris for your hint regarding the check list. i will go wih bro 525i to check out the fault before i buy this climate control. for E39 the aircond is famous of current leaking, i change my FSU unit and slove the issue.

Hi guys, mind to share your air cond symptom, my e39 air cond just continue to blow air, compressor not running even the ignition key is not on. The air cond mechanic mention there might be same problem on the console. My console also having the same part number 6411691664, anyone got a unit to confirm the fault?

In my case, blower was running but not cold. When turn off the ignition the blower continues to run. Had to pull out the fuse to stop the blower. The control panel totally dead. No lights and all buttons not working.

My symtom is completely match with what you have mentioned, so you have tried putting other the "max" console with different part number and it didn't solve your problem completely? Did u sent it to naidu to solved your problem? And what was the cost.

Yes, Using another Max version controller made the whole AC system unstable. The Aux fan did not turn on, buttons lit up differently. My mechanic tried 3 units but all the same. I then found out that all post 2001 E39 models uses a different controller. They look exactly the same but somehow is different. So I bought a used unit from Ebay with the same part no. I installed it myself and it worked beautifully. Cost RM420 including postage. Arrived after 1 week.

If you want you can come over and try it out. It's very easy to take out and put back. PM me for my location and tel no.
