hi cyber sifus, being registered many months ago and this site has been helpful in shaping novice like me to be more knowledgeble in handling my baby.Bought UDM 523i SE 1999 early this year & didnt notice that both the front & rear windscreen rubber seals (holder) are brittled. Checked around with couple of Doctor Cermin & all of them are scared that the windscreen may break off during the process of installing new seal.Alternately, claim insurance & get it covered.me need your advice on what is the best option & where to do it (anyway in Klang Valley/Selangor)have a nice day!

Mine's brittle too and that's what all the Dr. Cermin said to me too. But this guy here in the link above did it w/o removing the windscreen! Now that's something to have a good look at!

Cheers...

Did my rear windscreen rubber at Bimmer(Selvam). Three hundred inclusive of labour for e46.

Thanks Bro!

BTW where is the location? Any contact number of Selvam for quote?

Hi All,

My mech said if it does not leak then dun disturb it. Fix new one will end up the same, brittle in time to come. So the tip is to get it fixed properly so it does not leak. BTW, anyone can share with us how long a new one will last before it goes brittle again? Tqvm!.

I think your mech is a dumb asxxx. worn out and brittle rubbe seal looks terrible. new rubber seal should last at least 7 years.
