I'm on a quest to buy the above items..but my search on local forums seems to come up with only ppl asking the same questions.I've looked in Mudah.my but I'm a little skeptical about the quality of these items. After all, I dont want them failing & costing me thousands more if not my limbs while using them.So I'm wondering if any of you guys could recommend a place or brand to buy the above item? Wonder if used workshop examples are available?

Never trust any tools.. and never work under a car that only secured by a scissor jack or hydraulic jack. invest in a jack stand and once tyre removed͵ push it under the car insurance.

If you are not using it as workshop, then any taiwanese or china brand is good enough. Like what astroboy says, once you jacked up the car rest the car on stand. Not on jack, while working on cars.

thanks for the input, definitely will use jack stands instead of just the jack it self.. that's why I'm wonder where & what brand I should get these tools from.

Gonna go the DIY route with my next oil change, overpriced workshops be gone!

Thought of getting a set of 4 for my ride during those long hibernation being away at work.

The last time i left my car while being away, both my front tires went flat with the side walls badly damaged.

I've been told that there are several workshop suppliers located along Jalan Loke Yew but never got around going. Hope this helps.

yup, berlambak at loke yew. I have got mine like 150. Works like a gem and not too big like the ones in workshop.

Where exactly around Loke Yew?, you guys mean the machinery shops?

You can get them at larger ACE Hardware store also. I think i saw it at the Midvalley branch before.

Tesco have the 2 ton hydraulic jack.. About RM70. As for jack stand.. It's about RM50~R70/pc. ACE hardware has it.

one added word of advice.....where u place your jack and also stand on the car is also of importance for your safety ( and the car's ). Happy & Safe DIY!

and dun forget the wheel brace(wedge) also when you jack the car up.

Ace eh?, I shall check that place out.

Thanks for the input guys!

That's what I do.. haha! :4:

You mean the shoe bata? :10:

This is great advice. I normally use 4 jack stands to raise my car and brace one side with the hydraulic jack but your idea of putting the tyre+rim under is something I will do in the future:

My 3ton jack stands I got my regular mechanic in JB to get for me. Cost RM75 for 2 pcs. My low profile aluminium 3ton racing jack I actually bought off Harbor Freight USA for a princely sum of USD39. I cannot use normal jacks as they cannot fit under my car.

Helpful as always. I am still working on it. This jackstand/jack combo is good, but I think I need a regular jack and then add the stands. Not sure, I will let you all know when I decide.....thanks for the input. Great.
