if it has more than 2 dozen hoses running everywhere, you still have the original engine - the M20B23 on Bosch L-Jetronic management. sweet thing when running right.

That is not a good excuse.

To check for LSD: next time your car is car on a lift, try to turn one of the rear tires by hand. If both rears turn when you do this, you have LSD.

Also LSD will have an S in the part number on the diff case.

earlier 83 cars, some came with K-jetronics, leftover from the e21 323 setups , similair setup with the L-jets, can't tell for sure unless its stated on the ECU or the transistor panel on the firewall

somehow i get the feeling the engine is not orginal on this car or it has been overhauled or something, lots of things looks out of place, .......don't ask me how i know.......
