wanna change my M40 engine....E36 318 M

hello guy...my old engine M40 318 M already kaput n it time to change..so i really need advice from member here to choose which engine :top:i already found m50 (dunno engine code) 2000cc 6 slinder single vanos halfcut with price RM3500without radiator...the chop2 toukey claim that car can start and smooth engine before they cut it...in my mind....320 0r 325 ..tq

I recall reading in another thread ...JPJ stipulates that max allowable transplant for 318 is 320 ..you might want to get this verified .

Just plug in M50B25 and use back ur manual tranny .......

Less mod if tyou change to the M42 engine... 318is 4 cylinder 140bhp....

engine, wiring harness, ecu, alternater, vane pump, air mass, exhaust manifold, etc... very good condition, RM1500.00 with the gearbox, all for Rm2000.00

yes ...u can...its getrag 220 .....

maintain ur gearbox ,long shft and rear axle ....ur rear axle is 3.45 which is okey for M50B25TU ......I using 3.46 on my M50B25TU manual as well .....Give u more pick up but lose up a bit at HW cruising ......
