VIN# format (CKD vs CBU)

is the format different - i noticed that ckd models have less digit likeHB54 1201 vs CBU 17 digit long like on:http://www.bmwccbc.org/resources/teile/vin.html#detail%20vin

CKD models dont really have VIN. Its chassis number.
